First, I am posting this non realated models post here becuase most of the members that I need to reach do not go to the chat forums so please understand.

As many of you know I have been developing our new site and forum with another service provider and have also changed our name to 3d model mechanic.com. This transfer of service has proved to be a large disappointment and we are now trying to find a new hosting company to point Modelltex.com to. Unfourtunately in the meantime our site will be down (probably for about 2 weeks) while this transfer takes place, so our free model downloads will not be accessable.

Please post your respose and opinions here as I do not want to lose the vistors that depend on having our models there for them to download.

We have no intention of shutting dowm modeltex and it will just take some time to resolve this issue

Thank you, The Inovator

I don't know if you are paying for hosting and if you are how much you are paying but you might check out GoDaddy.com.
They have reasonable prices and a variety of hosting packages.
Can we still use the Modeltex chat or is that down too?

I thought you shut the chat area down, so I deleted it

"Hey god, what's the meaning of life?" I asked...
"62" he said...

Hey Guys,

One thought. Is there really anything that is unlimited? Do you want your site on the same server that everyone has unlimited resources? The hosting company has to pay for resources correct? Just somthing to think about.

try freeola.com, its like £30 for a .com adress for 2 years with unlimited space and bandwidth, the only downside is that it's ftp upload.

I got a pretty good deal bandwidth-wise.
You have to get plenty of bandwidth with GoDaddy because the won't shut down your site if it runs over but they will charge you an overly ridiculous amount of money.
