I still cannot figure out how to make a flat object, such as a sign, or banner, or board, in anim8tor.But I would like to know how to make a animated weapon, such as a pistol, shotgun or chainsaw with the same program ,
maybe someone could write a tutorial on how to make, and animate a weapon in anim8tor, because I really don't like asking for free models (read my post "Some models")and would like to make these weapons myself. thanks all.

Um... Your not Gunna be able to animate with anim8or... (Kinda ironic lol) Your gunna need to use something else I believe, am I right or no? I'd suggest milk shape for a cheap one to use. But for now just make non- animated items. As for the sign, I never make signs, so I don't know...

Yeah you are right, you will not be able to do the animations in anim8or.

This is not permanent

signs are just boxs, you can animate in anim8or, go to figure make a bone connected to the root bone, then go to sequence and make the animations, then click on the sequence button at the top of the screen and export it as a .3ds, and then simply use a converter to get it to DX.

as for modelling go to:
http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials/polgun/gunmodel.asp

thats a box modelling tut for making a gun, it should help you on your way, and its not a noobie cardboard cutout gun either.

(yes i know its for 3ds max, but there pretty similar in functions)

Anim8or animation does not export in any formatso far.So it is not usable for this. Great for static models though.

waitwaitwait, about anim8or, I heard that if you export in .3ds it loses all animation data, is this true?

if it is, i need to get a .obj to .x converter

Yes Da power pwner you CAN in fact animate in anim8or, the fact is that you can't get the animation into FPSC...

It's proabably becuase when you convert it to .x it loses the data. Or because of how Anim8or saves the data into the model.

With all the FPSC media packs, and the DBPro DLLs, and every single TGC product, how does one manage not going broke? Register here, it's awesome: http://www.surfjunky.com/?r=sunflash

I'll Try to make this clear again.
Only anim8or's own format saves animation data, all other formats it exports do not output animation in the file they save even if format supports animation.
Which is a great pity as it is very easy to model in. Unfortunatly animation is its weekest point in my opinion despite its name
