i did NOT use any filter,its handmade...dont got Photoshop...i use something different.(PSP corelX)

Thanks for saying those words,ill be keeping to practice.and well,ill design my own logo's from now on...

REMEMBER:i do not use any filters,everything in this is handdrew or picture pasted and adapted.(The first one is completely handdrew,the second one uses some stuff that are rather cool in my software.)

I think most people know about Omaha beach...
To be honest, your banners are very simple, and they just look like youve used basic tools.
Heres a basic banner I made in 10 mins for Johny's game, Omaha Beach:



Try and get hold of some tutorials, to deal with layer styles, and possibly get hold of some new brushes.

but what do you expect from someone that has been using photoshop for 2 weaks.
I appriciate you tryin to make a better banner for johny but you could email it to him or make a new thread unstead of somewhat hijacking mine.

I was trying to show you how to improve your own work, by comparing it to mine, so no, I wasn't hijacking your thread at all. I was merely using it as an example.

Well thanks for helping to try to improve my skills but showing me a picture of a rly good one wont help.
Just like staring at the math problem generaly doesent get you to learn it.
Maybe some pointers writen down on how to improve than "improve my brushes, layer skillz"
A small tutorial to help backup your awesome banner would have been nice.

Thankyou for your kind comment.
Since I think you kinda took my posting the wrong way, I will indeed do a tutorial sometime. What is your most common type of style (For example, mine is dark and grungey, like the sig I made up there).
I think, by the looks of your sig, Cold Blood, your style looks quite spooky and eery.
If you get back to me sometime soon, I will post a tutorial, providing step by step techniques, and effects, that can be used for future references.

Smitho- The banner looks good, though I think it would have been a bit better ifyou would have incorperated a small tutorial with that particular banner. you can show a different banner all day long but unless you explain the process it's lik elooking at a ferrari when you drive a porsche. you know that it is better but you don't understand the mechanics of it.

I really love your above banner.
My style is eery and spooky as you said, i would also love to learn how to do grungy.

for your sig igd, the background how did you get it like that?

and i presume for the texture, you used blur? im just trying to learn more about texturing so any hints/tuts would be wonderful

Iv been looking at your signitures, you are clearly better than me.
But sure if you want some support ill give it to you .

To get the backround like i have on mine...

1) select a light color and a dark color. Dark color in the second pallet and light color in the first pallet.

2) Go to filter, render, clouds

3) Go to filter, sketch, waterpaper

4) The rest was just messing with filters. Like ocean and regular ripple.

5) i recommend get a simble picture and going to the filter main screen and clicking on every one.
Get a feel for what each one does, that is how i really get mine to be how they are.

I ask one thing from you.
How do i get fonts into photoshop elements?
new fonts, liek whats the directory etc.
And were did you get that one font in your sig? i likey

Yea sorry i didnt see it the first time lol

to install new fonts You must

Open up Control panel
Then hit classic view, so you see a FONTS folder
Once you see it to install fonts you just drag drop them in there
