Geek Culture / Serious CoD 2 problem

I just downloaded the update to update from 1.3 to 1.5 and all i get is: "Install could not find a valid CD key please retype your cd key in multiplayer options or reinstall CoD 2"

This is the worst amount of ever I've got the cd right here in my hand (And in box with cd key) i've tryed Reinstall and my cd has been retyped multiple times can anyone help ? please it'd be really appreciated I'm sending an e-mail to Activision as well

I just uninstalled CoD2 the other day, because I never played the PC version, only the Xbox 360 version.. Hopefully that is fixed soon..

Well this update carry's all the other server's over that i play on + a new map i Got CoD 2 for the mp mainly because to be honest i don't care much for the single player apart from when my router is offline

because then none of the server's appear i can't even install 1.5 let alone play it

Well I reckon you just have a pirated copy with a licence key that's finally been blacklisted, and you've just overcompensated for your guilt by mentioning a valid CD etc. in your post....

Want me to photograph the disc ? i will :mad: o and CoD 2 doesn't need the CD for multiplayer so it can't be that

Yes, but anyone could just get any old picture. Its impossible to prove anything fully in this age of technology....

Uninstall it, then reinstall it, I had a problem with Unreal Tournament 03, I uninstalled it, stuck the disk in and installed it again, not hard, try the update if you like, but if it screws up, well then don't use the update, as aren't updates are just there to cure peoples probs, like the FF8 1.2 is only for those really with newer cards.

I had an issue with COD UO and it worked after tweaking the punkbuster update.

run the pb updater and in the box it should say valid.
did you drop in the crpyt.htm keys on your own or did you let the computer do it?

didn't know that file evn exsisted checking CoD 2 dir now

Edit:where should it be ? i can't see it in the pb/htm dir
