Oblivion is really good. You know why?
1. Tonnes of quests
2. Great graphics
3. Free roaming
4. Unique
5. In a seiries
6. Does what it is supposed to do: give a alternate life

What oblivion could have had:
1. be able to pick up objects and hurt the NPCs with them
2. Give you a choice to be evil
3. Harder

Sure some bad points have been fixed with mods but thats why people are like "WOW! OBLIVION IS LIKE THE BEST!"

technically you can be evil in it, just kill all the good guys and dont close the gates.

wow... u can do everyone of those things on the list.
1. pick up a sword, hammer, bow, w/e and attack... not hard.
2. just slaughter innocent people, you think the guards will like that?
3. just go to options and make that game harder.

Yeah... this really isn't talking about the theory or design behind Oblivion... just why you seemed to like it. And you didn't even get your facts straight...

1. what i meant was while it is still being used in grab mode, iw would have been cool to swing using the mouse
2. I meant the main quest and still being able to fully complete
3. less fast travelling

Oblivion needs more voice recordings. And I need WAY more than a 10k map to get my groove on.

But seriously, I've heard lots of complaints about the poorly balanced ai.

lol. Possibly the worst post to start a thread with. Ever.

I enjoyed it, but it seemed to not have the character that Morrorwind had, for me at least.

Still, why do people post this stuff? 9 times out of 10 (probably 10 times out of 10...), someone in an entirely different location that's never met you before (even if they have) arent going to care what you thought of a game and what you wish it had. If you were to go to a friend and say "You know, I really enjoyed the gameplay in Halo", the friend would probably pretend to care for a sec and then drop the subject. Why would someone that doesnt know you do different? :/

Oblivion would Rock on the Wii, but i guess we wouldnt need it, as Zelda would be much uberer.

But Oblivion is my 3rd fav Rpg of all time I have it on the 360, so i cant really Mod it at all which sucks.

Did you know that there is around 60,000 lines of dialogue (people talking) in the game. In comparison GTA is about 10,000

So far, I'm am super impressed with Oblivion. I was skeptical at first, with it's huge amount of quests, if I'd really injoy not doing the main game. But so far, each quest, albeit not long, has obviously had more than five seconds of effort put into it, and sometimes, the characters come to you with more parts to the one you thought you finished. Not only that, but the sheer size of the map and amount of people you meet is awing. Of course, I use my time becoming a master thief and archer, screw the gates I say!

I also find it funny when a beggar with a "scotish" accent says something, and then says another line with a totally opposite voice. Still lots of records, though.

heh, beggars, lol. The reason their voices change is because they are no longer begging. They do it to seem more pitiable. It did kinda bug me when I realized that all the female Argonians have the exact same voice, but it was interesting to notice how long it takes until one actually realizes it.

And I love this game! The models, textures, and effects are amazing.

I would of liked to have seen more missions in the main quest. It seemed like it was way too fast.

there are some really funny bugs in oblivion
what bugs have you found?

my two favourites i've found:

1) i was in the imperial city minding my own business, when suddenly a guard walks up to me. he stops and looks at me.
Another guard runs towards me, killing the other guard infront of me.
when the guard was dead he talked to me and can you guess what he said?
"STOP! You violated the law"
so i was sent to jail for a murder i did not commit

2) a npc was sleeping in her bed, so i grabbed my bow and started firing arrows at her. apparently she didn't die as she was a "main character" (you know, those with a crown icon).
but anyway, after loads of arrows she finally woke up and looked around, then went to bed again and fell asleep.
What's up with that? why didn't she attack me?

I've been evil. Took me days, and I was a very powerful mage at the time, (started with another class now), but I managed to wipe out alot of people in the imperial city, starting with the arena staff.

I was soon after, recuited as an assasin. I also joined the guild of theives.

I'd like to see more consiqence in it, if you steal money and food from a poor person repeatedly, they get weaker, and weaker and weaker as time goes by until eventually you find them dead on the floor one day.

If you do it repeatedly from a rich person, they hire privet guards from the fighters guild, you have to fight or sneak past them to get anything then.

I lay upon my bed one bright clear night, and gazed upon the distant stars far above, then I thought... where the hell is my roof?

I've not played Oblivion yet, but I think I might pick it up. I thought Morrowind was ok. Not particular involving because the NPCs were quite fake. However, I enjoyed walking around the island killing absolutely everyone, especially waiting till nighttime and attacking remote hamlets and killing all the inhabitents and then throwing all their belongings into the sea. Similarly in Deus Ex, I loved sneekily murdering innocent people (especially schoolgirls in hong kong) and then taking their bodies to the highest buildings I could find and throwing them off, piling them up, until the coppers or triads caught me, at which point I would kill myself by leaping from said building into the pile of rotting corpses.

Yes. I think I'll buy Oblivion now and see how twisted I can be in that world.

Twisted? For the PC Version, there is a glitch that allows you to duplicate items. It involves switching your bow or something, then dropping the item you want to duplicate. If you wanted hundreds of something, all you'd have to do is repeat said trick. Over, and over again.

If you wanted to be sick and twisted, you can find a Daedra Heart, stand upon the tallest building you can find, and rain bloody mass down on all of the cities of Cyrodil.

You can do that in the 360 version as well. That's how I have so many arrows that do 60 pts of frost damage within a 10 ft radius !

I haven't had my copy of the game in a month, has there been an update that fixes the glitch with the arrow of extrication that some users (including me) have faced?

Ok, so I just picked up Oblivion. I was gonna get it on Play, but they were out of stock. Lame. So I looked on ebay and found a few second hand copies going for about £12, and one new one going for £19, and then I found it on GamePlay brand new for £17 nugs. Bargain. So it's installing now. Let the mass graves, ransacking of hamlets and culling of all wildlife commence!
