hello. I was wondering if someone could make a very good graphical game using dark basic classic? some games I would want to make is sort of like the games that were released in the late 90's I have no programming experience, and I find dark basic extremely difficult to understand. I've read the tutorials but they are of no help to me. any help would be great thanks.

If you mean games from the PS or the N64 when you say games from the late 90's, then yes, in graphical wise DBC could make games that look like they're from the 90's. As for more recent games on the PS2 or Xbox, those games could only be duplicated in graphical wise with DBPro.

Cocacola and Pepsi aren't that differnt. Deal with it.

Look up StarWraith and it's sequels, and Tito the bouncing Alien - both very nice looking games and both written in DBC.

Really, if you can come up with the media DBC can cope - it's best for specific types of graphics, like space, and cartoonish - but really the only concearn would be for a FPS or multiplayer game, in which case DBPro would save you a lot of headaches.

I'd say it's easily capable of this:

Which doesn't look too bad for 7 years ago, does it?

That's Ground Control released about 7 years ago... GC obviously wasn't written in DB Classic, as DB classic was released about 5 - 6 years ago... They both use DirectX 7 to render (A lot of 7s in this, aren't there?), so if you've got the programming knowledge, and the media DBC can do it...
