what's the command for turning mipmapping off? i completely forgot it even though i have used it several thousand times at least

(mipmapping, for showing different detail on an object or it's texture depending on how far away it is)

from the starwraith website once i googled your problem.

When DBP loads an Image, It has the bad habbit of mipmapping it automatically. So you have to use LOAD IMAGE X$,X,1 so that DBP will keep the original image info without downgrading the quality. This also has to be done for any images that will be used for the GUI.

aha that works aswell, i found my old method eventually too,you can use this:

SET OBJECT TEXTURE Object Number,Texture Mode,Mipmap Flag

as far as i can tell, set the Mipmap Flag to anything but 0 and the texture detail goes blurry.

ps. texture mode flags:

0 - default texture setup
1 - reflects the textures in a way that gives you an endless seamless texture (quite useful)
2 - takes the colour of the pixel at the edge of the texture and uses that beyond the bounds of the first texture. (not quite sure what that would look like)

Brains are for idiots.
