Quote: "Find me an example of these in Doom 3:"
- Drivable vehicles
SDK, Quake 4, Resurrection of Evil, Monorail Car
(I would've skipped the whole 2-3hours of pointless point-to-point driving if I could've)
- Enemy vehicles
SDK, Quake 4
(Would love to know where the hell they're used in HL2. You have that helicopter and wierd bug dropship.. in neither case can you steal them to use yourself; the vehicles act far more like enemy characters than vehicles)
- Commanding a squad (Rebels and Ant Lions)
SDK, Quake 4, Resurrection of Evil
(Oh yeah the multitude of "go" and "piss off" commands certainly make it an indespensible 5minutes of gameplay both provide.)
- Many NPC allies
Sentry Bot, Beta Squad, Several Scientists
- Close, developed NP ally characters (Alyx etc.)
Sergant Kelly
- Wide open fields
Parking Lot, Delta Labs Monorail, External Areas, Boss Areas
- Open street fights
No streets, but you come close with several areas.
(No different to the many many corridor fights)
- Physics based puzzles
First of many, is one where you have to clear a Biohazard room so you can pass through with a crane.
- Sniping
SDK, Quake 4
(again didn't use this feature in HL2 there was never any need)

You've got to be thinking of someone else. I completed the day of release. Not played Episode 1 or 2 though.
