I'm running FF 2.0 and the website looks a bit botched to me. Image tables the wrong size and things off of where they're supposed to be and whatnot.

Looks fine to me, except that there's a lot of wasted space since I'm running 1600x1200 resolution. That site is actually W3C compliant, or so my HTML Tidy extenstion tells me.

Same here. I can't stand anything under 1280x1024. I paid a lot extra for my 20" LCD over a 19" just so I could get to 1600x1200 resolution.

Good performance is better than a good excuse.

Not a Dell by any chance? Mine is a 20.1" number with the same resolution. If you haven't read the manual (programmers don't really read manuals, but I found it when researching it) then it can spin to become an A4 view. Awesome for this forum. If you can be bothered half the time... On the other hand I wish I hadn't got addicted to 1600x1200 res when I got a 19" CRT years ago as it would saved a tonne of cash. At one point I had 3 1600x1200 res screens (2 CRT) and a 1920x1200 res laptop. When I got a replacement monitor for my backup PC I seriously had to stop myself from getting another 1600x1200 I convinced myself by saying low res video looks better when bigger Is just a hollow argument though...

You do realize only 19% use anything higher then 1024x768?

But there's one thing we can all settle on: Eff the 800x600 users.

And? You do realise only *some stupid small number*% drive a Ferrari? Personally I like 1600x1200 cos you can fit 4 800x600 desktops into it Plus the pixels divide exactly to play a 800x600 game on an LCD if your computer isn't quite upto it. So none of that "dirty" look you get with LCDs when they lower resolution that isn't 100% divisible by their main resolution.

And I forgive Benny for his unforgiveable mistake.

@Dazzag,
My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 204B. And yes, it can rotate, but for most of my work, I like to keep it in its normal rotation. What sucks is that about a month after I bought my monitor (back in about Feb. of this year for $450) the price went down about $100. I don't know how much it would cost now, but definitely a lot less than I paid.

So that would be like me saying "I can't stand anyone who drives anything anything other then a Ferrari"

1024x768 is the norm that web designers develop for. And I was talking to hyrichter.

Hey, I have nothing at all against people who like lower resolutions. It's just that if I have a large monitor, I like to take advantage of the space on it, and 1600x1200 just happens to be what my monitor is best at running. It's not like me saying "I can't stand anyone who drives anything other than a Ferrari", but instead, "I personally can't stand driving anything but a Ferrari." But I have a Chevy truck, not a Ferrari, so that analogy doesn't matter.

When I design websites, I make sure they look good on at least 1024x768 on up. I even make honest attempts to make it look good on 800x600. When I'm at work tomorrow, I'll look at what percentages use what resolutions. I agree though that 1024x768 is by far the most common.

Good performance is better than a good excuse.

I keep mine running at 1920x1440(I think that's the right proportions)

Anyways, It's huge and I love it.

You have a 15 inch or something Ben? I mean... I don't think they even make monitors that can't go above 800x600 nowadays. I can understand though if it gets fuzzy at higher resolutions. I had a few old monitors that didn't like anything higher than 800x600 without getting annoyingly blurry.

This monitor can go above 800x600, it's just that my eyes don't like it a lot.
