Bloodeath 6 6 6- I think you should make your stamp as a water mark in the same corner make it subdued. Also I would play with that render cloud function. You could also try the diffuse cloud on a second layer. set the new layer to 33% opacity and then go to select/color select, now click on the diffuse cloud layer and then press delete once. If you want to make it seem a bit more spacious you can hit delete even more. next I would use the sharpen/unsharpen feature and then add a noise of about 1 to the image. this will give it that nice 3D look. you can play around with the render light function on layer one to give it that ray of hope look.
On another note..Your mark that you place on the bottom right corner should not be your forum name. Try to make it either your real name or if you are apart of a team use the team name. It's a little more professional.
I like the first texture, it reminds of a Bril-o pad. That is one of the cooliest ways to use the light function.
a smal tutorial
Letter should be there to accent the image. I understand that the banner is to promote a game but you need to make it feel natural to the whole image. (see this banner that I have made, I know this has been posted a few times, but it is a great example of blending the image, texture and lettering.)
Notice in this banner there are 5 layers. I started with the base color (D.Green), I then created a new layer and added D.Grey (BG) and M.Grey (FG) and rendered clouds. I used the select/color select feature and clicked on the darker portions of the image (layer 2) and hit delete once. I then used the select/select color feature again and selected the light area of the image (layer 2) and hit delete twice. this opened up the image to the background (D.Green). Stil in Layer 2 I opened the layer style sheet. I added the texture (construction stripes) to the rendered clouds. I then added noise at 1%. next I added the sharpen/unsharpen mask option (248, 1, 5 are the settings I used). All that for 2 layers, right?
ok the next thing I did was add the lettering. I will post the font I used if you want me to. After placing the lettering I then added the layer styles effects to it they included:
Bevel/emboss
drop shadow
outer glow
inner glow
satin
color over lay
Graient fill
I have the settings written down somewhere I will post those if you want me to as well.
I then duplicated the layer and then added a layer style of outer glow, I tweaked the settings and got the oval glare around the lettering.
Thats how I created the banner below, remember it's alot of trial and error.
Enjoy!
