I'd like that M16, if you could make a lower poly version

How about a shredded, bloody corpse? I could really use that. That is, if you have time and all.

No model request from me, but just wanted to say - nice models, nice work. I suspect you may find yourself inundated with requests.

I think your all missing the picture here. If hes producing high end models like this, I doubt he is willing to model for free.

So smash open your piggy banks, kids!

Thank you greatly for the offer Lord Menelag

I think it would be great if someone who could modem got together with someone who could make segments and together they made a theme pack. (Kind of like "you got your peanut butter in my chocolate")

For instance, as someone already mentioned, a motel theme pack with room segments and motel type models. The end result having packs for all different environments. (home, office, motel, factory, mall, etc) Lucky is the man who is good at both. Well, not lucky but skilled for sure.

There is certainly a wealth of diverse content on the forums, but for those who don't make their own original content, they end up with a lot of different looking and styled pieces that make their environment look like it was furnished from yard sales. Good content, but none of it looks like it belongs in the same room.

Don't get me wrong. I soooo appreciate the good people who give their time and talent to me and others here, without which we might loose interest in creating games with little or no new content. In many cases, it is the new content that gets us thinking in new game directions.

Best.

The forum provides a means to hide our true identity. Too bad we always screw up and let it be seen.

I do not normally do this but could you please show some proof that this model was designed and modeled by you. Ironically the link that errant ai posted from bombshell design of the m16 is line for line the same model you have posted.

heh, too many polygons someone said? Pfft, just rework some scripting, get a dual-core, get a GeForce 7 series, 2 GB of ram and you're fine. Anyway, Lord Menelag if you are looking to make some interesting models drop me an e-mail and I can give you some ideas. I have quite a few ideas that doesn't come up on the forums and aren't in any model packs or such.

And how is everyone supposed to afford that? When you make games, you need to be able to reach the largest audience possible. I still want to know if its his work or not. I have the free M16A2 off of Turbosquid, I'd like to compare the wireframe with the one he's showing. The one from TS is well over 10,000 faces.

actually you can max your systen out with quad proccessors, dual graphics cards 5 gigs of dds and it still wouldnt matter. the game engine itself will need to be able to handle the load as well.

Thats the same m16 im sure. Also I don't know about half life but the turbo squid mesh is 64000 polys and i dont know if even half life can take that.

Actualy... getting a dual-core ready system is not that expensive... ebay is your friend. You could build one hell of a system for under a grand. At any rate, I can even run some intensive things on FPS Creator with a 32 MB integrated card... that says something now doesnt it.. >>

There area few high poly M16A2's on TS. After his absence i think he tried to pull a fast one. hoping that the requests could be met through turbo squid jacking. What a shame.

*or he is spending time trying to edit the model to make the mesh different.

Well the tiny details are exactly the same. So he made it or he jacked it the second one is most likely.

There's no question it's the same rifle.

If he's not the original modeler, I can't imagine why two people would both make M16A1s with A2 Handguards and flashiders and the selector set to "safe".

The Mac10s are also on TS from a different artist alltogether minus the hastily lathed suppressors. Again, the possibility of two artists making high detail weapons with identical flaws is so remote it seems silly to me. In this case it's the bump on the pistolgrip. It should only be on one side and not both. I would also hope that someone with such an apparent eye for detail would know the difference between a Mac10 and a Mac11.

My apologies if this is the actual artist and he just gets around but I think those chanses are frankly slim.

I think this sig is appropriate because your not getting the picture here. He more then likely won't be answering back anytime soon. People here on this forum take a really dim view on thieves, and though new guys may think their slick, between all the decent members here it's really hard to pull a model past everyone as your own if this isn't the case.

@Errant,
OK that's just funny Mr. GunMan.
