OK, so I am off work for a little bit with a bleeding kidney (not as serious as it sounds, I promise!), so I have got time to kill. Therefore I am using the internet a lot, and am constantly needing to click here and there to clear the history, cookies, temporary internet files, etc. every time I finish. So I started to put together a little program to run alongside internet explorer, to delete cookies, files and history as they are placed in the directories, but unfortunately, to no avail. I can't see how, though. Because the "delete directory" command will delete an empty directory, but if the directory has files in it, it deletes those instead, but it doens't work with the cookies, history or temporary files, possibly because the directory they are contained in is a hidden one. However, DB seems to be able to access it. Is it possible to create such a program? And if so, is there a command in DB to check if a program is running?

I suggest you use Firefox, because it has a "Clear Private Data" that lets you clear cookies, history, saved passwords, etc. and you can set it to clear what you want when you close Firefox, so you really don't have to worry about it any more.

I have no idea how to do what you're asking though. Sorry

well if you use a search you can find those hidden files personal i think if your going to own a computer they shouldn't be aloud to hide files/folders from you so i have no idea how many hidden files are really on my comp but anyway the main problem i see with a program that your trying to create if to brodcast to the world(aka let us have it) is that people have diffrent folder names but if it is for personal usage then just direct dbc to that folder do a perform checklist for files and a for loop to delete them repeat for all others and that should work i don't see why you would want to delete the folders they reside in thats if i understood you correctly.
besides that just use firefox like ufo said it has a clear private date button that you can use.
