Hi Everyone,

After recently finding out that I was going to get the wii (Thanks to my Moms generosity ) I started planning how I would get my hands on one. After consulting my step brother, who camped outside a best buy for a 360, he told me to take the same course of action for the wii. Now, I'm really not a game in any sense, just to the point of liking Zelda and a few other choice titles, so camping out for this is all new to me, and I'm not even sure if the situation warrants it. Ive heard from some that ill have to get there late Saturday, and Ive heard from others I can come in a week after launch and they'll still have the wii. My question is, what exactly should I do to get my hands on one?

Back by unpopular demand!
Battle Legacy has gone MMORPG! Nah, Im just kidding. But seriously, check the WIP

I know if it was me, I couldn't care about whether I got the console on the day of release, a week after the release or a month after the release! I think you should just be patient, you'll get one eventually.

Honestly mate, I'd say go into a shop and buy one. If they're sold out, try another shop. If that fails, just wait for the next batch. There comes a time when you have to grow out of the desperation to have something the second its available. It's not worth camping outside a store just to play some games a bit sooner.

there will be one on ebay the day its released. there might be one on amazon. go to amazon and see if you can pre order one. they already have the new Leisure Suit Larry game which hasn't been released yet available for pre order.

The only times I've ever had to camp out was to get the gold copies of Zelda Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask. But I seriously doubt you'll need to camp... the Wii won't be as popular as the Playstation 3. Just do what _Nemesis_ and Fallout suggested... don't get it on ebay... you'll get robbed.

I've always mocked those who camp out...Now I'd feel completely out of place to do so now...

If you find a place sold out, go somewhere else, a less popular store, when GAME screwed up my brother's pre-order of the PSP he had to go in town early and get one from a place that's not as known for games consoles, try it, you'll find people lining up outside game stores and you walk into a electrics store and pick up a Wii, or you could pre-order...

Or take the Eric Cartman route and freeze yourself...

Sorry dudes, I know it's a great console, but camping out? Get your priorities in order. If videogames takes No.1 then I think some lifestyle changes are in order.

I guess I could see camping out if this was the first video game console ever invented, but seriously, if someone is that hard up for a video game then they should just go buy a new game for an existing console. I know the Wii is better, but it basically does what other game consoles do - play 3d games.

Well, sometimes the experience of camping out with a bunch of other like-minded nerds talking about video games and playing link games with one another for one night isn't really a bad thing

You could pre-order, find out you haven't been allocated one for the release date, but no you can't have your deposit back, because you'll get one...eventually, but no they can't give you an exact date, but it might not be in time for christmas.

Sound familiar?
