with the scancodekeypressed=.... script, can you use arrays or, more than one character to trigger a sound, message or even a cheat, because it's a bit easy to get all the weapons just by pressing the ~ key for example.

i have a script that i wrote for getting all the weapons, not sure whether i should make it public though.

Generalized (psuedo scripting)

Basically, have all the weapons in a 'hidden' area with this script in propper form.

Knowledge is power, and power curropts, therefore Knowledge induces Curroption in those who hold it.


Creamster, I can make the script you want... but I am not certain I should 'share' it with you. Although, the bird says that use of a 'ladder' system (incrimenting states) might suit your purpose.

Wisemen are hard to find, they are tarnished by sayings and quotes that are not of their true nature.

i already wrote the script for all the weapons, i just wanted to know if you can type a word or message to get all the weapons, like in doom : idkfa (all weapons)

Maybe or maybe not.
But you should e-mail it to me.
Seriously,though,that is one of those things that could set your game apart from everyone else's.
I'd think twice about making it public.
And if you did choose to do so you should post it on fpsFREE and tell everybody where it is to up the traffic on your site.
Or you could do it by e-mail invitation only...if you think someone deserves it and they e-mail you for it then you can give it to them.
Or you can decide the knowledge is too dangerous for mankind and destroy the script.
The choice is yours.
I personally think that Creamster is putting the cart ahead of the horse.
Worry about making the game first and frills like cheat codes can be put in as your game is further along in development.
This,however,is my opinion and should be taken as such.

Fred, I have not written the script to do it, although I will look into it. It seems possible in my head. (lol)

I was merely responding to Creamster in kind. To ask for someone to provide code in the same thread that you refuse to release your own seems a bit selfish and I wanted to make that point.

I will work on the code for word type entries today if I have time.

I figured you were joking.
I have come up for an idea or two for cheats but they are pretty simple.
I have figured out how to change some scripts so that instead of picking stuff up automatically you have to press a key.
Useful if you don't want to pick up something right away.
I will probably post my little technique after I test it some more.
Of course,it only works with Empty's mod or one of the FPSC updates but not with V1

I wish I could have had access to scankeycode or whatever that is using v1.
It would be so useful for my RPG, but I dont want to risk messing up anything this late by 'trying' 1.03 now.

Theoretically speaking, I havent even started a map yet, so it cant really mess it up , but in case something really goes wrong and I cant revert back or something....naaa
