Man this game is so good.

Just got 100 stars - only 50 to go!

Been very strict about not moving onto the next level till I'd got all 8 from the current one.

I also love the Wario Rec Room game where you fire the catapult at the parachuting Bo-bombs. My high score on that is 59000.

I'm worried about completing it....

What other DS games would you recommend getting next? Final Fantasty III looks pretty good... As does Metroid Prime Hunters.

I read somewhere that Miyamoto (or someother high-up Nintendo guy) said, when asked whether there would be a Smash Bros DS, "We're thinking about it".

Yes that was enough to make me wet myself.

I'm a bit disappointed about Zelda Phantom Hourglass though, it looks awesome, but it does look Ocarina of Time Awesome. I don't know why they don't just port more N64 games over...

Havn't got Mario 64 DS myself yet, I was looking for something that would last me a while and if FF3 doesn't come out by the time I decide I need a new game I'll probably go for Mario 64.

Mario Kart is good if you've got someone to play the multi-player against.

Meteo's is good for a quick blast when you've got a few minutes spare.

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training looked a bit boring to me but I've got it now and it's great, a lot more fun than I expected, again, it's better if you know someone else who's interested so you can both set up a save file and compete for the youngest age.

New Super Mario Bros is quite good, didn't take me long to race through the main game but there's loads I missed out the first time and there's a stack of great mini-games.

EDIT:: I've also been thinking about getting Resident Evil. I never got into Resi and get the feeling that might be the game to get me hooked.

It would appear I've been bitten by the coding bug yet again...

Metroid Prime is great, even the multiplayer is a good laugh. The new super mario game is worth getting too, short but a lot of fun and has a lot of secrets to discover. There's some nice looking DS games out soon, like Star Trek Tactical thingy, looks pretty cool and I'm not even a trekkie.

I would say it's best to avoid driving games on the DS, it's just not cut out for it - 2 exceptions is Ridge Racer DS and MarioKart, they're pretty good and RR should be going cheap.

Cooking Mama is surprisingly addictive, chopping veg and frying stuff and getting it all just right is a real challenge. The 42 games in one is actually pretty good, better buy than those other game packs, you get a ton of card games, plus mah jongg, chess, billiards, there's a lot of gameplay for £20.

If your looking at those cheap brain games, I'd suggest the Big Brain Academy, it's more fun and interesting than the Brain Training one, which just makes you feel guilty everytime you don't play it after missing a few 'sessions' - BBA is a lot nicer looking and less frustrating, and is not hosted by a chinese Kryton.

Yah I agree about Clubhouse Games. I love that I can play 7, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, and like 40 other games from one cartridge.

Meteos is also good.

I wasn't particularly impressed with Mario 64 DS though because of the downscaled textures, but that was a little expected of course. The minigames on the New Super Mario Bros. is the only reason I'm keepting that cart around after beating the game. Also, Advance Wars DS totally kicks butt for those turn-based strategy freaks like myself

I've played Mario 64 DS, but I prefer the old Mario 64.

I suggest New Super Mario Bros, Resident Evil DS (since you have never played the series) and Metriod Hunters. I should actually start playing Metriod again.... I got ticked off that there was one part I couldn't beat.

Yes, Mario 64 ds is amazing. I've had it since the launch day, beaten it completely twice, and I'm still playing it. It's soooo amazing... that probably have to do with that I never played the original Mario 64, but whatever. The level of polish throughout the game is astounding.

And there's practically no way they're going to port ocarina of time, as that wouldn't make much sense with the virtual console coming out so soon.

If you want more platformers, I highly recommend Sonic Rush, New Super Mario Bros., and Kirby Canvas Curse in that order. Rush and Mario bros have tons of replay value and are really fun, but Canvas Curse is just so unique and good that it can change how you view a platformer.

Other games I suggest are Metroid Prime Hunters, mariokart ds, Animal crossing, and Advance wars ds if you're looking for a good strategy game. For rpgs... I recommend nothing that's on the ds yet. But I do recommend looking at FFIII and the new Pokemon's when they come out. I also suggest looking at spectrobes, which looks like it might turn into something good.

Oh yes, the Elite Beat Agents game got a 9.5/10 on ign, and from the vids looks really impressive. So, if you like beat games, that's probably one to get.

StarFox DS is good, flight shooter with some strategy. WiFi online, except I haven't really gotten to play because poeople keep quitting if they begin losing.

And I'm playing Children of Mana right now. Dungeon crawler with real time combat. Multiplayer wireless if your friends also own the game. Haven't tried multi yet, none of my friends own the game.

The best RTS I've played on the NDS is Shogun War, might be tricky to find, but it's a very cool Shogun Total War style game on the DS, and it has multiplayer (never tried it though), it reminds me a little of 'Defender of the Crown' on the 8 and 16 bits, there's mini games to chase the general on his horse and smash down castles. It's not the RTS that the DS deserves, but it's a step in the right direction.

I might go for Advanced Wars... everyone says it is amazing...
It'll probably end up being Mario Kart though.

But that's for Wii isn't it? Or can you play those games on DS?!?!

I like it a lot too, it's a good buy. I find that the first levels may feel a bit stale and contrived but when you get in the swing, it really is a "just one more go" game.

I have vague plans for World Domination

Yes, for the wii. And that's the point- if they're re-releasing it on a console, not as many people will buy the handheld version, as the textures will be awful and controls ugly in comparison to the console one that you can buy ten-twenty dollars cheaper (assuming a ds version would go for $30-40 US).

And while this might not stop other companies, it does stop Nintendo. You remember their retro series on the gba? They stopped that when they decided to do the virtual console. And really, n64 games just don't work well without the analog stick. Mario pulls it off and I'm sure Ocarina could too, but I doubt it would control as well as Phantom Hourglass will.

My only qualm with Zelda PH is that the camera is so overhead. I'd like more tilt added to it so it would feel more like a bridge between traditional 3d console Zelda and handheld Zelda...

And I'm not saying I don't want Ocarina of time on the ds... I do. I just don't think it's going to happen.

I havn't played Mario 64 DS yet, but Metroid Prime isn't as good as it looks. Its quite hard, and the story doesn't get you. I've given up on it.

WHAT?!?!?

Sorry, but Metroid Prime Hunters hard? It's the only fps I've ever beaten.

That might be because it is more an adventure/puzzle/platformer/fps than just fps, and I'm much better at the other three genres. Also, most of the story is uncovered though the scan visor... it's a pretty good story. In fact, it has the best non-pc fps controls ever.

Also, have you tried the multilayer? The multiplayer battles are absolutely amazing.

Sorry, it's just I think it's an absolutely amazing game. The only reason it's not my favorite fps is because the story in the hl games is like my favorite game story ever.

I'll be shunned for saying it, but I can't get into Mario 64 DS.
I own (and still play) the original on the 64, and nothing beats the glitches in it to finish the game in 20 minutes. Although, I guess the reason I can't get into it on the DS is the lack of these glitches. Go figure.

I still stand by Mario Kart DS.
True enough its amazing when you play against someone you know, random online rivals are still fun.
I've gotten back into it lately, so if anyone (or three ) wants to play, game on!
