Hi, what's the complaint proceedure for reporting moderators?

I lay upon my bed one bright clear night, and gazed upon the distant stars far above, then I thought... where the hell is my roof?

I assume you can do it easily enough by clicking on the icon on the offending post.

I take this is about your asparagus(sp?) thread being locked, I have to say I agree with it being locked because it was very likely to break out into a flamewar, the blame lies not with the moderator but with the people in there acting like little children

Yea, but how are we supposed to talk about a subject responsibly without it being locked within the first two seconds. It hadn't delved into a flame war yet, and could have been rightfully locked when this happened.

It should have been left open until a violation of the AUP was committed, and to my knowledge this wasn't the case.

Fine, well it turns out we can't discuss anything like adults any more. We should all just go on an AOL chatroom.

Is it always the same users who drop the threads into a flame war? If it is then surely a noob slap is in order rather than locking the thread.

@Kenjar and Mnemonix: I'm with indi on this one. That could have been a fantastic thread and I personally would have been interesting in reading about it to learn mind - I'll just have to visit your site at some point. The problem is, some people on this forum are quite immature and just stir things up. Whether they have a condition of their own, they do it for attention or its just them living up to an an on-line personality they've built for themselves (ie, they think people would be disappointed if they didn't do it) it another matter I'd rather not get into - but the fact of the matter is that its sometimes have to have a mature conversation here without someone sticking their oar in with a silly comment or two.

if you want, start a thread once you have the site up and running.

Take the discussion over to your new site and make us aware of your new site with a new thread once its all up and running.

Im not dismissing your problem, I do however have an obligation to prevent threads from getting out of hand, that was clearly turning for the worse.

Once the site is up, tell us about it here and we can go over to the site to discuss it.

Both being cats, I think the more appropriate course of action would have been 2 buckets of water, and to leave the thread open.

I have to say it's a shame that the mods have to lock threads (which is appropriate under the circumstances) because personal vendettas take over. Perhaps some newbie slaps are the order of the day.

After re reading it, Aikicat knows better and has earnt himself a slap as well for his comments on that discussion.

Sorry I cant appeal to everyones requirements, you still have a right to discuss the syndrome, but you will have to carry it over to your new site once it up and running.

I apologize for the way I acted, I am not in a very good mood today due to reasons that I don't really want to disclose. Even so, I'm sure you understand that it wasn't purely my fault.

I think we all know who the antagonist is ben, however you have proved yourself to be more adult by fronting up with an apology for getting caught up in the nonsense.

edit: this thread has served its purpose and i spoke to ken in depth over msn as he requested.
its his choice if wants to make a complaint. the offer still stands to move the discussion over to your website as its not really a subject for a game development board.
