I'm just scouring the internet for expensive looking gifts that are not all that expensive. For instance, I've just ordered a nice new MP4 player, 1.8" screen, built in speaker, 1Gb ram, with games built in, voice recorder and a line in socket for around 35 pounds.

There are of cause cheaper models with more ram there, but I liked the PSP style and the line in socket will be useful as I'm interviewing a few people about their experiances in the last world war for another projects, and I've got a phone jack that outputs the conversations via a 3.5mm lead.
