i have some major crits about your uzi, 1st one bieng the barrel is WAY too long the main part of the gun is too wide, the handle specially, in general the gun is out of proportion, theres a pic at the bottom of my post so you can see the proper lenght of the barrel, as soon as you sort out the proportions though it will be a good model, keep it up

if it had a long barrel it wouldnt be an uzi, uzis are compact and lightwieght, a long barrel would off balance it and make it heavier. hope you take my adviice though

I am only 2 years older than you, ([mod edit], so Its okay to say my age ) and I started off with my models much like that...
Unfortunately, I cannot point you in any particular direction, as I am not familiar with that software. All I can say is possibly try and get some multi angles of guns before you model it, so you under stand how it looks from the side, the top, and random angles.
For a uv mapper, just save your model as 3DS and import it into anim8or. http://www.anim8or.com/
Then go to http://www.wembley1967.com/pafiledb/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=1 and download AEs anim8or tutorial. It shows the basics of modelling in anim8or, but also shows how to texture in it. Really simple, really cool, really free! Keep at matey,

Yours,
Dan.

Mod note:
Dan,you are not supposed to post your age if you are under 18.

here you are, i just sent you the model in .x format if you want it in a different one just tell me, anyways, heres a pic with the changes i made in it, it was mainly to the barrel but i lowered the poly count a bit, and i recon if i had the time i could get it to about 200 polys (tris) anyways, pic:

heres lithunwrap it converts most files

i was actually posting it in that format so you can open it in yourmodelling program and then see how your texture looks in the modeller, it saves alot of time.
