Well here's the deal. I used to play Magic a lot but now I play Dungeons and Dragons more. When my brother moved out of the house he gave me all of his 500+ Magic cards for Christmas one year. But since I don't play anymore and he doesn't either, I have to sell them. If anyone is interested we can talk payment and price through email. I will post pictures of the set and get an exact count of the cards if I see you guys are interested.

Thanks.

(Mods: I hope it's ok that I'm posting this. Sorry if it's not.)

I highly doubt it is, but I bought a bunch of Magic cards, but I never use them and they're just sitting there because I'm too lazy to sell them.

I still have about 4 boxes full of cards in my attic. I always collected cards. never used them in card games, never sold 'em, never traded them, never played with them. just got them becuase i liked 'em for some odd reason.

I don't even remember what some of the card series names are, although i know that I still have Babylon5 cards.

Well here's the problem....

I want to sell about 500 cards for $80(WAYYYYY less then retail for all of them)...seems fair right?

Well people on eBay are selling like 700 cards for only $20 or so. When someone sees their's they won't even pay attention to mine since their's is a lot cheaper. eBay would be hard to sell on...*sigh* but I'll set up an account tomorrow....

Well, if you can get $80 retail for them, then sell them as such. But even for 500 cards, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone willing to spend more than one could on Ebay.

Just take a look at those damned Pokemon Cards. People don't pay much for them anymore, and in comparison, Magic The Gathering doesn't seem to be as popular. So good luck in selling them, period.

Dear God, this reminds me of the money I blew on Pokemon(and Yu-Gi-Oh) Cards. I only wish I could have the money back.

Back by unpopular demand!

Don't know where you guys live but Magic is by far the most popular of the trading card games, it outsells all others combined by roughly 7 times. I remember reading that over 2 billion dollars worth were sold in auction in 2005. Put the cards up. The number of cards does not matter it's which cards you have. Example if you have a beta lotus in decent condition you are likely to get 2 grand or so. If all your cards are 4th edition commons you will be lucky to get $5. I don't buy anything but sealed boxes anymore never singles, but if you post a list of the cards you have I can let you know about what you can expect money wise. I personally stopped selling on Ebay because alot of people will bid on the same cards in several auctions and only pay for the ones they get the cheapest. Personally I travel to tournaments and sell there, I have made an easy $70k since 93 with little work and still have well over 80,000 cards.

I have 3 12 inch binders full of magic cards... I believe I'm somewhere in the 3-4000 range, but I honestly haven't counted. Hobgoblin Lord outdoes me a bit I guess though...
VERY fun to collect, and a pretty good game as well. But as I just didn't like it enough to play a lot, I've stopped buying them. It was a lot of fun though, and Magic card can be worth a LOT of money. I've got some pretty good cards, and a few very rare ones. I'm sure someday they'll be worth tons, but that doesn't really matter to me that much.

Unglued and unhinged are the best. I went to a local tornoment for unhinged... it was great.

I just wish there was a need for my 3 monster boxes (3000 count) of basic land

Another thing Kauroto, the card do not really need to be old to be worth something, in fact many cards from the last few sets can fetch $15-$30 apiece foils not included which can be upwards of $120. The key to selling MTG cards is to strike while the iron is hot, sure many of the older cards have gone up in value, but cards that sell are cards that are played in tournaments. recent examples (Lightning Helix, an uncommon and easy to sell 4 at a tournament for $50), take a look at the current hot decks and see if you have any of the cards being used in them, especially since the current set reprinted cards from alot of older sets making the originals hot.

Oh boy...

Man I wouldn't even know where to start looking. Let alone narrow it down to five. Sorry if I'm not being much help...How about this? I'll gather up the rares and tell you which those are.

(Maybe Sunday I'll spend the day doing inventory on what all I have.)

also, look up what the symbols of the rares are, so we can see which set they come from. Wont take anything more than a glance at the products on magicthegathering.com to figure out.

I have like 600 that I've been trying to sell, includes cards like Eternal Dragon, and well that's the only noticeable one. I had that DarkSteel Colossus and that was worth alot but 'TJ's Collectibles' is stupid and wouldn't buy it...

Well unless they sell alot of singles and they needed this card it is the right move on their part not to buy it. They are better off cracking boxes for singles. I ran a collectible store for several years and generally my policy was 15%-25% of a cards median value in cash (Unless it was big ticket) or 50% in trade. Personally when I do buy singles I offer .10 for any rare or foil common, .25 for foil uncommons and $1 for foil rares. I pull in alot of cards like this because I take any card not just the hot cards I will generally not pay more then 10% for any single as a buisness person, another player however will pay alot more for the card.

Problem with Yu-Gi-Oh cards is this, uncommons don't sell since rares= own commons
super rares= own rares

this makes 98% of all cards you get worthless since all competitive decks are about 95% or more super secret rares of doom.

I gave up selling them pretty quick, made some money early but later on could not give away uncommons at .01 each.
