Topic.
I have found out that even though in the HD setup program I set it to work as a slave, it isn't set that way, so how do I change that?
Thanks,
Torsten.

torsten, its time you apply yourself now instead of running here.

google will link you to many pages that describe these issues with verbose how tos.

spend some time using google and apply some brainjuice.

geek culture isnt really pc tech help.

if you get stuck, then ask a question relating to your problem.

If your going to ask a question as well provide more information.

do you have IDE, EIDE, ATA or SATA etc..

how many drives have you got, what kind of motherboard etc..

Sorry.

This is my second drive.
It is SATA.
I have an ASUS mobo.

My drive doesn't have jumpers, as shown in that pic. I'll keep looking.

SATA doesn't work the same way as IDE - in that respect.

Essentially, think of each as being its own primary drive per cable. One drive per cable only.

you might be mixing drives and that could be your problem, now we know what drive you have.

I have 4 SATA slots, and 2 are being used by HDs. I don't think I'm mixing drives.. My new drive was assigned F, but in Device Managed, it was listed as Disk 0. But would having both of them set to master be a/the problem?

this article has pictures and links if your not familiar with the process torsten, and should solve a lot of your problems if you read it all correctly and continue with the links.

this empowers you with the knowledge and you have something under your belt when it occurs again.
