Ok, the time is rapidly approaching again. Give and ye shall receive. The problem is age though. When you're a nipper, there are a million things you want and can't have, but as you get older, it begins to go flip side. These days I struggle to have any ideas of what I want, apart from a 500k house or 40k car. Little things that I need I buy myself, so to buy for me is a hard task.

So to all you older peeps and big kids out there, what are you gonna be asking the mrs for this year, or what do you normally scribble down on ya chrimbo list? It's a constant struggle now to think of something new and interesting that might be cool, but doesnt cost thousands and isn't so specifically techy that I'd have to buy it myself to make sure it was the right one. DVDs, music CDs, pair of socks .... tried and tested, but let's have some brainstorms of what we can ask for. New hobbies maybe? I'm up for that!

Lets come up with the ultimate xmas list for older people who have mostly everything they want, but want to want something else that they dont know about yet.

Here's one suggestion to get the ball rolling ...

Joby Gorilla Pod. For anyone that takes photos of yaself with your family on holiday, and are forever trying to find a place to set up the camera. These things are awesome, so I bought one for my sis and her hubby as they're always camping and taking photos of themselves. One of those cool things nobody knows exists but are awesome if you're into photography.

Edit: Oh btw, this is xmas prezzy ideas for ourselves! Not for other people. Screw them. This is a selfish list. What do we want??!

Having a robotic chair that fixes itself when it breaks would be cool:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNIz1lg2_AQ&eurl=

Not that useful though...

A flying alarm clock would be cool too:

Uhh .. not sure about the robotic chair, but I'm sold on the flying alarm clock! That's an ace idea. Although I'm not sure I could part with my ceiling projector alarm clock. There's nothing more convenient for checking the time in the middle of the night than just opening one eye and looking up at the ceiling (you're generally facing that way anyways!). I suppose I'd have both.

What I want is basically a load of colour balls about the size of a tennis ball, that are made out of plastic but filled with helium so they are completely neutrally buoyant.

It would be so cool to have a load of those just bobbing about in your room, riding convection currents etc.

Totally useless of course, but kind of a cool idea. Would be cool to kind of part them if they were in your way... They'd just float in a straight line the direction you pushed them.

With the price of coal these days, I wouldn't be that upset getting some. I could sell it or something. As long as its not shmoal.

And since I'm referencing to it, the Red vs. Blue dvds would be a good present too.

I think I'm going to ask for college "stuffs" this christmas. I'm secretly kinda hoping I get enough money to purchase a laptop or a really good gaming desktop though. A laptop would be more of a "believable" choice to spend my college money on lol.

Other than that? I guess I'd as for my grandpa to give me his car and a nice girlfriend (lol). Do those come in packages too?

Blood hell. Thank god for Phaelax, and x1b. Some half serious suggestions.

I've gone down the DVD route, but that causes its own problems, as I have no idea what to ask for. I've made a separate post at a movie website I go to for their top 5 DVDs to help me make up my mind there.

I've also put down a DVD player, as I normally watch DVDs off my computer, which is just a pain in the backside, especially always hearing your compo noise over the top. But I need a specific TOSLink fibre optic audio output to plug it into my sound system for the 5.1 ..... I'm not sure if I can rely on anyone to actually get the right DVD player. Once again, probably best to buy it myself.

@x1b ... btw, I dont read book. I dont think book is stupid. I am stupid. So I dont read book.

So far my list looks like this:
- DVD Player (with digital audio output DTS TOSLink)
- DVD: X-MEN3 (X3) The Last Stand

The DVD player will probably have to come off, and I've only put X3 on there because it's the only film I can think of that I sort of half want to see and haven't seen. hehehe. This is bad. This is actually quite important. For my 25th birthday, I didn't bother with the list, despite my parents/sister etc. asking for one, because I didn't know what I wanted. I got NOTHING (expect some socks and deoderant and a bar of choclate) ... no party, no meal out, nothing else. No list, no prezzies.

i'm saving for an airsoft mp7, a new XC mountain bike.. looking at £1500 range, 2006 honda civic + insurance, new guitar and amp, and pc upgrades.

that totals to about £50000

i need a job, or a more generous family .

i've still got a birthday to come up before xmas though, im expecting my friends are "secretly" putting money together to get me the mp7, and i know one of my uncles is givng me some cash towards the bike.

Probably end up having to buy everything myself but here goes:

Photoshop CS2 upgrade as I am limited to ps 5.5!!! after leaving my job and handing all my stuff back

Manfrotto Tripod and head because my cheapo jessops one is cack

New Amp as last one melted

New walking boots

Im not one for buying dvds as I normally watch stuff once so I normally rent. I like Books though books aint stupid.

A decent electric shaver would do me, my old one just chews the hair on my face into boredom and eventual suicide.

A projector, I don't want to buy a new TV, I want a projector so I can hook it right upto anything I see fit, PC, XBox, DVD, Cable, but mainly watching AVI's on the PC (LOST on a 10ft wide screen is what I'm after - Evangeline Lily is just not big enough on conventional TV).

That's about it for me, I don't want much, I tend to be daft with money, so if I have enough for something I want, I tend to grab it and suffer for the rest of the month .

Seriously though.

I never really get anything christmas wise, a cd or dvd here or there. Have to make sure the kids come first, then the wife must have her loot and santa's bag is pretty empty by the time I get there.

So

Heroes of Might and Magic 5 should be just fine.

I have this thing about not paying off christmas till July.

That's why I've been keeping a list over the past year of movies I want. Most of what I want are 80's cartoon sets. Whenever I have kids, I want them to see what TV used to be like and how far downhill its gone on saturday mornings. Here's a short list of actual movies though, maybe you'll get some ideas. (i have no idea what type of movies you like)

- Empire Records
- Blazing Saddles
- Heathers (fun to watch with drunk buddies)
- Layer Cake
- Bubba Hotep (bruce cambell)

Not my typical style of movies, but those were the random picks I've just never gotten around to buying.

@Zaibatsu - Nothing ... much.

Electric shavers are definitely not my ting. My old dear bought one for me last year and it's a £150 sorta price range one. The one that jizzes gel on your face when you press the button. Fairly posh. But they're rubbish. I dont know how you guys use electric shavers. I spend about 10 minutes going over and over and over the same spot over and over again, with one hair that it just wont cut no matter what you do and how hard you push this buzzing face saw into your jaw bone. No, wet shaving for me.

The projector is an ace idea though. I've wanted one for a while, but it's one of those things where the price range is huge. I mean, as little as £200 and as much as £2000 for a home projector, which means there are obviously huge quality differences and you gotta find middle ground. I'm always of the mentality that, if its worth doing, its worth doing properly, so I'd want to get the mega expensive ones, which is why I dont own one.

Photoshop
Windows Vista
The new Darkbasic book
A gaming rig
A giant amplifier
An extremely good guitar
A drum-set
An iMac
A 60 gig iPod
A PS3
A Nintendo Wii
A bunch of CD's
A new Call of Duty 2 disk so it'll work
A decent effects pedal
A good recorder
FPSC
One of those super fancy TV's and surround sounds

I could think of more but I don't want to lol

EDIT: I don't really think an electric shaver is necessary >_>

Um, how about four weeks of sitting around on my arse, watching TV and playing computer games while someone else dose my cooking and cleaning...oh wait, im getting that anyway!

I’m a uni student going home for four weeks at Christmas btw.

As for presents, which I’m getting as well as a vacation, the Dark SDK would be nice, but I’m buying that as soon as my copy of MS: VS 2005 arrives so...money? Harry Potter 7 (god how i want that) and maybe a date with Emma Watson in two years* (god how I want the adult version of her ).

*She's only 16 atm and for those of you who don't know, watch a Harry Potter movie and you'll recognise her.

Doh!

I was also conned with these electric shavers. Don´t believe the adverts. There is no such thing as a decent electric shaver. No matter how much you spend on it.
Let´s see. I want:
*Zelda. For the cube. Unless they make it inferior to the wii version. In that case a want a wii and Zelda.
*Chocolate. Those big nice chocolate bars that come round at xmas time. They´re so nice. I ate one whilst waiting for the bus the other day. My stomach ached afterwards but it tasted so good.
*A figure of Oni Link. I ordered it in September but it still hasn´t come.
*Money to buy hoodies and some jeans with. I need more hoodies!
*A katana would be nice. Especial when I go to see friends in unsavoury areas of the city. Blasted quinquis. (more or less the Spanish version of a chav I think)
*One of those insane amount of gigs mp3 players would be nice. Not an iPod though. I don´t want my family to be conned. Well. They are rather shiny those iPods...
*A ps3 and a team of 300 people to make a decent game for it.
Well that´s it really. Not much. Just 1100€ or so. Not including the team of developers. Only half that if I get rid of the ps3....

You need to keep using electric shavers to get a decent shave - your skin has to get used to it. Personally I'd rather not wet shave, it's too time consuming and irritating, wet shaving every day? - to hell with that!.

Wet shaving can be drilled into precision. Foam face (15 seconds), with the grain (30 seconds), against the grain (60 seconds), wipe face (5 seconds), aftershave (10 seconds), done.

And that's with both hands and legs tied behind my back and at gun point. Rookies.

Everything I want (unfortunately) is well around $300 or more... My mom asked me for a Christmas list, and the only thing I could really think of was gift cards and a nice razor, or an electric shaver... Though some things on my wish list I will have to buy myself...

21" LCD widescreen monitor, with the ability to rotate the screen
Nintendo Wii & games
3ds Max
Adobe Photoshop
A new graphics card and a ton of other computer equipment...

Other stuff I can't think of right now...
