I'm in need of cover art for my game so I whould like to know what is a good way to learn how to do this. I searched google but only found company's that draw cover art. I want to know how to go about this the right way.

Eureka Seven, man it would be easier to decide on a design. Then try and figure out how each section was done.

By looking at the first cover, Gears of war, probably the the first layer is the red skull logo. So finding a tutorial you like on making a logo might be first. There's renders of space craft. So find some tutorials for doing renders and setting up images. So then like the buildings on fire. You'd need to render the buildings and find a tutorial covering adding flames or explosions to a scene. None of this is going to be easy making some great cover art. I don't think there's an all in one tutorial you could look at. Yet, you'll have to decide what effects you like and add them in layer by layer.

How do I make scary looking text? Like the words Ghost Stories with running white letters?
