i've been later than the rest of my friends at picking uni for 2 reasons, one being that i want to go abroad where the deadlines are much later than here, and secondly, i'm still not sure where i want to go or what to study.

right now i'm thinking to do political sciences, but a small part of me wants to do something game design or coding related.

while i know where i want to go if i'm to study politcal sciences, i dont know anything about game dev courses. does anyone know some good world-reputed universities that specialise with game dev stuff?

I'm looking for somewhere outside europe (apart from holland and scandinavia) and the united states.

Something else to consider man. Only do a programming related course if you really really want to. Part of you wanting to do game dev really won't cut it in a Computer Science/Software Engineering/Game Development course. Not only because they're really hard, but also because unless you're really into your coding, it becomes very dull very fast.

All I'm going to say is, don't go to DeVry. I know several people who went there, including myself, and we all regret it.

There was an article on Slashdot recently about someone asking professionals how usefull a game programming degree is. The majority of responses said they were more likely to hier someone with a degree in computer science or general programming. That, in their experience, "game majors" weren't as well-rounded in the technology.

Well if you are into game programming or general computer science WPI in worcester MA now has a game program. Top notch education at that school. Of course if you are a sports person you better like wrestling or rugby because thats about what they got.
