That is, unbelievable how unlucky yet lucky I am. Today while out looking for a wii, my step brother and I went into a local gamestop and once again were told the wii was out of stock. However, after hearing my brother talk about the ps3, the man behind the counter asked if we wanted one. So, using my wii money and his spare change, we bought one! Now it went on eBay immidietly, as my interest purley lies in the wii, but amazing I could find that console yet not find the one I was looking for! Oh, and Im of course luaging at all people who camped out weeks in advance for it

I'll be honest - I hate the fact that people buy consoles purely to sell them on.

It would appear I've been bitten by the coding bug yet again...

Sony is shipping as many units as they can each week to the U.S., and on both CNN and G4 (I didn't see it on G4 but a friend said he did) they've said that some analysts are saying they'll get 750,000 to 2 million units shipped by January 1st 2007. They're saying the Wii is going to be harder to find in the week's to come, mostly because Nintendo shipped everything they could (around 450,000 units) during the initial launch, rather than shipping in doses as Sony does... so Nintendo now has to scramble to mass-produce more of the Wii for shipment, and they cornered themselves for the holidays... they might get as many as 500k more units shipped, but it isn't looking good, or so CNN claims. Stupid move, but you won't hear me complaining

That's funny. Because that's not even close to being true on Nintendo's part.

I'm just reporting what was reported I dunno, I think I'll take CNN's word over nextgenwars.com, call me crazy but I tend to follow the people with the most research money

Not quite the numbers I have seen Matt, but they seem so varied from site to site, newscast to newscast I won't quote any. I will say this though people are definately not buying the Ps3's to play with right now, just looking to make cash. Two of the guys in my game production class work at Gamestop and they sold 24 PS3's only 1 extra controller and 2 games total, that says people are trying to cash in.

Actually, Sony themselves have said they hope to ship 1 Million units.

I believe Nintendo was hoping to ship 2 Million upwards (Trying to find url for that one too) before the end of the year, and has already shipped nearly 700,000 units

The way I see it, Sony is going to be hurting for a while. I don't think they can make (or sell) PS3 units fast enough.

I walked into EBGames and bought a PS3 today with no problems. Except I can't take it out and show pictures because its supposed to be for Christmas (a present to myself, and brother).

I don't know about the Wii though, I didn't bother asking.

Considering 2 more former PS3 exclusives have switched over to the 360 side due to PS3's lack of production (Koei), I can honestly say Sony is in trouble

Yeah but who was counting on Fatal Inertia and Blade Storm : The 1000 Year War to be killer-apps?

And Sony should have jumped all over COD 3 and made it exclusive--- but didn't.
