Hi,
I have a Mac and ran Parallells on it so I cn use windows as well this also meansall windows apps work on it now includign DB however when I compile a darkbasic program, it give be a white screen and an error message saying:

"system error: surfaces could not be created. D3D Devices do not support backbuffer bit-depht and HW Acceleration"

This happens even if the program is as smple as print "hello world"

any ideas? Could it mean Im missing some drivers or something?

change the bitdepth of the monitor resolution from memory.
it might be set to 24 bit , switch to 16 or 32

Parallels and other virtual machine software don't provide virtual graphics devices capable of 3D acceleration. This will probably change in the future though

I think you are right John Y, I tried changing the bitdepth of the monitor resolution memory to both 32 and 16 although still nothing, then I triedd downloading dirct X although I still got the smae error..
