Anyone rated their here computer yet?

My work computer just got in the top 2%. Which is quite amusing - because it isn't that great - I thought it was a midrange PC...

Doesn't work for me, even when using IE6, why do sites bar out apparently non compliant browsers? I really find that annoying, as they would probably work anyways.

It uses ActiveX, hence Firefox wont work. Try again using IE6, it should work, it seems to be temperamental though

that's because of the onboard graphics (which are 256 MB... but still on board)

I'm in the top 7%, and my compo is 2 years old.

However, it didn't detect my SLI, and therefore quoted me as having a 6600GT with 128MB of RAM, when in actual fact I have a dual GPU 6600GT with 256MB of RAM. It's a weird card though, so I guess they don't detect that sort of thing. Wonder what % I would've been in if it was detectable.

Edit: It also missed my 2nd HD.

It's just a clever way for them to get market data. "Hey, figure out how cool your rig is compared to everyone elses!" while they learn what specs users have and therefore can sell that data to software developers who need to know their target market.

lol, and I just ran it again and now it says 11%. Makes sense since they say "of the systems scanned", not "of systems", this can cause the scale to shift. If 1000 crappy systems went on and scanned right now all of our percentiles would move to the better.

lame

Good point Mr Rustler. I suppose it must be in its early days of stat gathering. In a week or two, I dont our percentages would change.

Edit: Was still top 7%. Same as before.

Well the game matcher compatibility thing with it isn't wrong, I can in fact run Doom 3, thanks for the link, I would have never found that out Yeah so what I fall short of the specs, but you can't argue with results

@CR

Guess there are 2 possible reasons

a) It like athlon 64's better

b) I don't have any cows gumming up the works.

I was a little suprised myself, but I will say this I play DDO and I run with every shader/ shadow casting element etc w highest details and have no problems ever (unless they have a server problem) People I play with who have what statistically should be better machines but freeze up on them if they run top level. Don't know why could be because I got it pre built and the architecture of the system as a whole is good compared to guys buying components and slapping them together, sometimes pieces just dont work well together even though they may be higher end. Just a thought.

Edit: for the doubters

They could consider other factors too, I mean it says games over my spec can run on my system, and I tried it, they do and quite well, I mean I've done a lot to optimise my computer's performance, that's probably something that pays off in those tests, or it could be my mother board or a number of things. If I'm 22%, then my system isn't as bad as I thought it was, best stop calling my computer a piece of crap

Yeah Hobg, I am not sure why the thing is all messed up. I would think machines with pci e video would immediately class over anything agp. Weird. What you said about people slapping hi end parts together and having probs, while true, I doubt this scan is sophisticated enough to know anything that intricate without a deeper test. Even if it is that good, it still makes no sense in my case since my machines are always kept in top notch running form - no crashes - no hiccups - ever (yes, it is so infrequent an event that I can pretty much say never, or the negligible difference thereof). I can run any game full tilt and not have any issues. Maybe I am lucky, or maybe I am obsessed with keeping the machine tip top, doing things right, researching the parts before buying them, knowing what to avoid, etc etc - I dunno, prolly a mix of it all. I have been building my own machines since 1993 so I would hope by now I know a thing or two I think most likely the test is "lacking".

anyway I'll stfu now

Since it put me in the top 3% I say its flawless I know what you mean though I thought that either A) im in the top 3% because people are testing their Capo's on the thing B)It's running a deeper test then I thought or C) they are saying my machine is in the top 3% of those that need to be thrown out and upgraded

I do have a killer FSB, and things open really quick for me like Word which opens in a matter of seconds compared to when I use the machines at school (Dell Duo Core 3+ghz) where it takes about 15-20 seconds to open. In reality though I don't care what it says because all that matters to me is things run well.

Edit: Wait, WTF?! I -do- have sound card! I just bought an Encore ENM-232 4-Channel 32-Bit some days ago! :/ as always, it's M$ who's messed up... :/

With Tomb Raider Legend (which requires.... WTF, 9.6Gb?!?!?!) it says my compie is no workie (though it didn't took in account the space left in my secondary drive - 20Gb) and I must say it's accurate on this game.

Need for Speed Underground works, NFSU2 somewhat works, the race tracks are slow as -heck- and almost unplayable in this PC. Don't even think about Most Wanted which I can barely play with the lowest detail settings without suffering a constant HD slowdown (I lack CPU and RAM for that game). If NFSMW barely runs... that site gives me a laugh when it says I can play NFS Carbon XDDDD....

However...

"32% of the systems scanned by the Game Advisor rank higher in performance than your system."

But I can play most new games anyways, so HA! (?)

right below the list of specs there should be a line of text with the completely wrong rating, and below that is a graphic scale of the aforementioned completely wrong rating.
