I don't know how many of you have heard of this but, all I can say is I pissed my pants when I found Project Offset. http://www.projectoffset.com/game.html

This is a 3D game engine that 3 guys in an apartment put together that can't be described with words. It's truly amazing. Read about it on the site and then download some videos. I can assure you that you WILL be amazed if you haven't seen it already...

I'm speechless right now...just watch and you'll see.

No. Sexy.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the realtime motion blur the engine has on the characters and particles. This isn't just a simple special effect that is only triggered at certain times. You can actually pause the videos at anytime to see it in action.

Yeah that's what it started with. Now I think the team is up to 18.

To be fair, these aren't amateur developers, they're ex-employees from S2 Games, so they've definitely got the experience. Never-the-less, it's still one hell of a bloody good job they've done. I actually completely forgot about this game since I saw the sneek peak video well over a year ago (it's been sitting on my hard-drive dusting away since then), thanks for reminding me.

They have a team of 16 people working on it now, all of whom are industry vetrans having all worked on AAA titles... it's not exactly some minor side-track project being worked on by a budget funded team.

It honestly hasn't been covered much since they originally released news either; everything currently shown is what was developed over a year period by the original team. Plus it's all running on top-end hardware using some established middleware, and software solutions.

Not saying it doesn't look impressive, but against some of the next-generation games that are comming out now; the graphics it has certainly are no longer looking particularly special.
It's a major issue when you release news early in project development and work with a smaller team than other developers... often the project is super-sceeded by other projects.

Still wouldn't mind seeing this when it's complete. Hopefully there's going to be a 360 version.

I heard that's what the main release version is going to be. Well and PC also.

That looks AMAZING. Loaded the page and bookmarked it in one motion lol. Oblivion is going to have nothing on this game.

Oblivion has it's own throne in the gaming world.

But Project Offset will blow it away.

Anyone downloaded any videos yet? I highly recommend it. But be warned: if you do download any videos, just don't download the 1980x1080 resolution video unless you plan on watching it on a high def TV (or your monitor actually has that resolution.) My computer has a 1280x1024 resolution, and it made my computer go crazy until I resetted it. So, if you want to watch them right away on you computer, obviously only download what your computer can handle.

About bloody time. I'm sick of leveling up ... "I AM UBER LEVEL 42 KNIGHT OF CHAINSAW DEATH .. you are but a level 4 peasant of syphillis. I will crush you will ease by simple selecting the attack button here and despatching you with INFINITE RAY OF MOULTEN MASSACRE DEATH while you attempt to block with Straw-Filled Hanky of The Grandma".

These guys have the right idea.
