I haven't played D&D to much as to learn all of the rules and stuff but I've played in a few quests and found it AMAZING but never really had a solid group to play with. Someone from another post commented that they would play it if they had a group to play with... well is there an online version of D&D? Yes yes I know theres that game out called Storm Reach but I'm actually talking about a D&D game with a real DM and rolls and storytelling and maps. Maybe even something like a Postal Match, where you send the email on or something.

I dunno, I was just wondering how awesome it would be if there was one.

Look up OpenRPG on Google. As I do not have a group to play with in my local area, I use OpenRPG to play with some mates over the pond. It's a bit buggy, but you can't beat free for what it does. It also has a strong community and is moddable to no end.

Thanks I'll check it out. I wonder if there's anything more nice client wise though than what your saying.

there is this "learn to play d&d" thing which is entirely virtual but is only two rooms, and the one other virtual player acts a little... um.... "different"
but it would be great to have a virtual d&d thing, but it would be even greater if they had the old mage knight virtual thhing. that would be soo coooool

IM NEVER ONLINE TILL SOMETIME AT NIGHT!!! god dont expect me to be sitting at my computer all the time

You could always use an IM client.

ASCII maps are great fun as long as you find yourself a DM willing to put up with them. :-P

Yea I hear ya dude guy, I'm trying to ask people how to do things but they're not really talking too much. The only thing I know how to do is change nicknames by /nick namehere.

I think someone needs to make an online D&D game with DB lol. And I would join you but I don't know how to play either! It would be the blind leading the blind lol.

Lol yea. But I just found the "+" version of OpenRPG and it's real nice. Not state of the art or as good as it could be but it has a great fanbase and looks fun.

Yea, it's actually overly confusing. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it. Just received the character sheet and I'm trying to hash that our right now.

you probably don't have the right versions of python and wxpython. For OpenRPG+ you need Python 2.5 and wxPython 2.7.2.0 (Unicode).

Do you know how to connect to a server using the server browser?

There are/were some helpful people in the Tangled Web server. But ask around inside, they'll help. Surf the forums here too.

I would have been the other person who wishes they had a roleplay group. I've not got time right now to check that OpenRPG thing, but I will later.

I just added you, I had to download the new Messenger first. It's very sleek, I can see this becoming a new addiction pretty fast.
