This is a burnt out car I created for a scene in a graphic novel I've been working on.Thought maybe some members might have a use for it.It's FPSC ready.
You can use it any way you like.Commercial or non-commercial.

looks great rolfy! thank you so much for this!!

watch out for the noob question "hey! the car doesn't come with the smoke and stuff?" though

edit : what exactly is a graphic novel? Something like a comic book? Or is it like a animated movie or something?

No problem Filya, sorry but no fire or smoke like this in fpsc you could use the fire and smoke decals tho'.Yes its a comic book of sorts, illustrated in 3d with word bubbles etc.The one I'm working on is taken from the screenplay of a movie one of my buddies has written.

Good job on the car.
I have combined damaged vehicles with smoke decals for some pretty decent results before.
Thanks for the car.

I just had a look at your texture file!!!
What is that??

Did you make it after UV Mapping it like that, or did some software break up the texture for you?
I mean, if you (or me) ever had to retexture that even a tiny winy bit....god help us

@Filya,it's the way max divides the texture after baking,it flattens the mapping like this when you use sub-object textures on different objects in the model, the bubbling rusty effect was a dirt layer, the model was created as many different parts then welded together, if I had wanted to I could have output to the existing channel, but I'm too lazy to be bothered, for me its just a quick way to get a single texture file.
If you want to re-texture it just remove the existing uvw mapping, quite easy to do in Max,but I dont know how easy it would be in other modeling software.
Btw, it does offer some kind of protection for your textures all the same.

oh ok...so it was Max

yeah, I could re UV map it simpler, but I wouldn't have the texture to go with that map. (it would be easier to modify an already existing texture than making one from scratch)

And please rolfy, don't take this as a rant or something. I really appreciate you making something so good and giving it away free for all of us. It was just something that came to my mind when I looked at the texture file.

No problem, didn't think of it that way at all.I am happy to answer what was a perfectly reasonable question from a very polite dude.If you want me to post a simplified version of the texture I will be happy to do so.

Here you go.It shouldn't be too difficult to apply to selected faces of the model. If you meant a map of the model itself you could just convert it to obj and use the uv mapper in the sticky above, then bring it back into fpsc.

Very nice . Thank you!

rolfy,

I have a couple of your creations now that you released with this same installer. It has license info on the use but not distribution of the item. Would it be ok for me to redistribute these on fpsFREE.com?

Best.

Thanks for both the models Rolfy! Quality work. Very much appreciated

This is really cheeky, but now that you have the UV mapped model, can you not un-bake the texture from it, therefore allowing easier re-textures, for us non 3DS users?
