Hey Dudes.

I'm trying to run Linux under Virtual PC, so far I have tried Debian Linux and Mandriva (Red Hat based) But on both OS's after the install I am running a console on start up. Flicking through online Documentation, from the Mandriva lot it seems I'm supposed to be at the desktop, also the console prompts a login on both, I login and it seems to want my command, I didn't find anything on commands to starting up the desktop.

I'll take the Mandriva console as an example.

Any help with getting Linux up and running, I'd be greatful.
