hell on earth is a 3D 1st person shooter i am making with the 3D game maker. the game stars my famed comic book character who must fight the forces of hell in an attempt to save mankind from an eternity in the underworld. since it's a 3D game maker game, the only gun you get is the stinger. however, it makes up for it by having AWESOME gameplay. hell on earth features 8 dark levels with depth fog at maximum.

check page 2 for screens

this game is scheduled to come out this december.
i also have a portrait of the protaganist.

I don't care what they say. T3DGM Rules!!!

You'd best upload some screens before you get flamed by some form of tape worm and are then directed to the AUP.. of DOOM.

Also, prepare to be called a noob or something for using T3DGM.

Can't wait to try your game!

But seriously guys, this dude seems very excited about his project, and obviously if he's using 3dgm he's quite new. Let's not crush his spirits eh?

Character info:

the main character is a Cyborg from new england who goes by the name of R92X5. although he's a machine, R9 got his human personality from a virus that he caught while on his PC. (making an FPSC game. lol) the way he got involved in this game is because the attack was at new england. his home and his father both lived in N.E. so now, he must fight the forces of hell to save earth.

Seriously, I say that again. HELL ON EARTH!!!!

And it's funny 'cause it's true.

Oh well. I'm not as pissed off by it the so-called myst 6...

Edit: Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but aren't ALL fps games 3D by nature??

And who are you? I can't believe this isn't someone playing a prank.

I actually like the art style if the images are consistant with one another I would read a comic drawn like that.

as for using 3DGM, it does not matter if you build your house with rocks or top of line tools, it matters that it is built well. There is no reason to shoot it down from how its made.

Sorry, but as I can't edit right now, zavix please make this game and not the other one. It will save you the difficulties of treading on copyrighted material, and quite honestly, I wouldn't have flamed in my post if I hadn't read the other thread before this.

look guys seriously i cannot stand when people flame sombody fairly new to the board and someone who has yet to find out how it all works. We were all there at one stage, just give the guy a break!

What you should be doing is explaining what is wrong with what he is doing and showing him the stickies and forum rules. At least the guy is trying.

Ok rant over

ZAVIX!

A little speech for you, please do read, it will benefit you.

First of all, as a rule to this forum, any Work in progress or program you announce, you provide a game brief plus in game screenshots, otherwise (as it hasn't yet happened) it gets locked, meaning no more posts, or even a newb-slap (where you have to go onto post approval again)

Secondly, Its nice to see you have a creative mind and are eager to make a game, I see you're making use of the 3D game Maker, which is very limited to how you make a game, but is good for making a bunch of games for the creative minded. However in these forums there is a very few that actually own 3D game maker, we tend to program with Dark Basic or use FPS creator.

Thirdly, from the sounds of your ideas, you are taking on a difficult task, one of which very few, including those more skilled, will not be able to produce all of the media necessary for this sort of game, however I see you making good use of the presets instead, okay you may not make your character as you want, but you can make a game.

Forth, please do not post announcements of your games all over the place, one thread in Work In Progress is enough, as anyone who would be interested would see it there.

Finally, don't be discouraged by the flamey or sarcastic comments other people have made, its just the way they are.

@All, come on guys, be fair and be constructive, zavix seems to be passionate and wants to get something made, he may have broken forum rules and some of these 'unwritten social rules', but its a rather bit stuck up and unfriendly, we were all ambitious kids that didn't account for our surroundings as well.

Yes, don't flame him. The only reason I did was because his other thread...

But this one is worth suporting, if he really wants to make it.

My flame in this thread came about because I read his other one first. If I had read this one first, I wouldn't have a slap right now...

There are flames and mockeries, even in places they are just subtle, but nevertheless could be discouraging.

Gotta agree with that

Flames is what makes a forum not a nice place, comapred to when everyone get's along it's mor friendly and i'm sure everyone here feels alot less like "omg i'm gonna be flamed if i make a typo"

I banned him because in other threads he illegally posted TGC media for downloads.
If I hadn't banned him some other mod would have.
I am just the lucky one who happened to be first on the scene.
It had nothing to do with this thread.

I don't really understand some people . Its worth a bookmark though...

And Hell on Earth is already trademarked: "Doom 2: Hell on Earth". You should always make sure that the title of your game isn't already used or trademarked before you use it. I made the mistake of naming one of my games Laser Assault a year ago, which is trademarked now. It and its 2 sequels aren't nearly popular enough to be a problem...hopefully .

I think you find Zavix is a kid who wants to make a game, who does not understand the main elements, I remembering when going from 2D to 3D thinking, "How on earth do you make 3D objects", then I sought to answer that question and became a 3D modeller in the process. Perhaps with the thread there he/she thought that the gun could be made as an image and used, like in the first FPS games. I'd give him or her break, just because they don't know, doesn't mean they're lacking somewhat.

A trademark is an image or in some cases a specific font or style of writing a word. Though hell on earth may be part of dooms title you could certainly name the game hell on earth as long as the presentation of the game is not designed to confuse the consumer. Although people get away with that all the time too. A specific word of phrase can be copywritten if it is unique in some way and not part of common language such as Microsoft and "lets get ready to RUMBLLLLLLLLLE!". IF you go to the US trademark departments website and look through video game titles you can see just what is trademarked, if the trademark is live or dead and who has or currently owns it. I personally sent in an application for 2 particular trademarks from older PC games and hoping no one else did and that I get them. That will not entitle me to use anything from those games however (ex Inky blinky and clyde from pacman), if I got that trademark. (and no I did not apply for it), but it would allow me to use the Pac Man name and the registered logo assigned to it. Would be a sweet one to get but suprisingly it is alive

Indeed, I don't like seeing people flaming, although I have flamed, but when I have thought it to be necessary. As for not listening, well it takes a while, I remember that I used to complain about the flaming content on here, but I learnt to live with it some of it, mostly. Giving credit to the forum as I don't see many unnecessary flames any more.
