Are you completely sure? I read something somwhere about a RGB (Red, Green, Blue) Scart cable that bypasses the 50\60hz problem. Although I could of misread, completely gutted if so!

I have a 50 hz TV, I can play OOT for GC fine (60hz), its a resolution, but my TV seemed to try and handle it well, strangly, my small little crap TV runs at 60hz rather than my more modern Samsung...

Well I sure hope you actually tried it. You just said you looked at the GoW case. You said nothing about trying it.

Although my friend got GoW and I played it at his house on an old 27 inch TV and it seemed fine.

It depends what you mean by 60Hz. If you mean NTSC (which is arguably 30Hz), then most fairly modern tellies support it. Mine is 5 or more year old and i can play both PAL and NTSC modes in games. It doesn't support "progressive scan" 60Hz though.

He's right, why the hell would I wanna buy a game that I cant play? I have a HD TV downstairs but that would limit my playing time greatly, what with family watching it forever. But I really (and with good reason) want to play it. I just think I'm a little bit... uuh, unlucky?

yeah, well you could just opt for playing it less (on the HD) or you could look around for a large tube TV that supports it (if there are ones that is ) someone's gotta have one for $50-$100... kind of steep just to play one game though

I'd say it depends on your television.
This said, my brothers TV only supports 50Hz.. won't run any PS2 DVD or Game that uses 60Hz without the screen doing that horizontal flicker; but on the 360 the exact same DVDs ran fine, and all of these 60Hz only games did as well. Same went for the GC (and 60Hz games)

I'd suggest if you're worried, rent it for £6 from blockbuster and if it works then buy the game; if not then your not really much down.

Well I guess I didn't understand that you hadn't bought it yet. I thought you had already bought it Natflash.

Sorry if I sounded rude. Yeah like Raven said, rent it first, then if it works...get it.

Good luck.

i was at my friends house some time ago.
i noticed he had an xbox 360 in his room. as I had never played one before i asked if it was ok if i had a go with it.

He also have GoW, which i've wanted to try for a very long time now.
he popped it in, and my first impression was the aweful controls.

i ran through the first mission killing whatever i saw.
after the first three missions i stopped playing; it was just the same process over and over and over again.

get orders, kill stuff, get new orders, kill more stuff, get some more orders, kill more stuff.

in my opinion GoW was a v. boring game.

Well I'm thinking abotut getting a 360 just for GoW. And Dead Rising of course.

I could argue, but it won't help. It's just a matter of opinion...and your entitled to yours.

i am glad you didn't get insulted by my post, as i don't really want to start an argument about this either.

Dead Rising however, is the next game i hope to play. it looks very ..interesting.
If my friend ever got his hands on it, you bet i'll be there

anyway,
i would ask the shop if it was allright to buy the game, test it on the 50hz tv, it didn't work; if it was allright to trade it for another game, or get the money back in exchange for returning the game.

if you didn't like GOW identical gameplay, you'll hate DR too.
i mean you have so much available to kill the zombies, but the missions themselves to complete the game are identical.

That's why you rent it to test it out. Then if it works, but it! Not that difficult...
