I've been using FPS Creator for a while now and although it is really good, it doesn't give the results that i need. Would anyone recommend Darkbasic to me, i have a little knowledge of C++, know how to model in 3ds max quite well. I just basically need a challenge and would like to create a different style of game, i'm guessing my age won't account for anything so is this for me?

thanks

so what's the job?

try the trial of dbpro first, if you like it and have had success with programming before then go to dbpro, dbc is a bit of a waste of time and money imo.

Well, now that DBPro's out, there's really no point in DBC.

Don't let the "Pro" put you off DBPro. The commands don't get any harder, or different, there's just more of them. You can make exactly the same program in DBPro as in DBC, but once you've made it, you can make it better Basically, my favourite things about DBPro that DBC can't do is the intersect object command, vertex manipulation, and I think one of th most important, array manipulation.

The selling point for me was the "rotate sprite" command. Pro gives more power all around... and is much faster.
