Has anyone pre-ordered a Wii in the UK from a shop? I have, but I'm wondering if I should go to the midnight launch on thursday, reckon they'll sell out before friday?

Anyone know how many Wii's will be available in the UK on launch?

I'm in 2 minds, I pre-ordered but I want to get Zelda too. I'd rather go and pre-pay for my stuff then just pick it up on Friday after work, not that it's an option - that would be too convenient :/.

My problem with Thursday is that I've no idea how long I'll be stuck in a queue, when I should be sleeping!, I have to get up at 6 .

I might get up early on Friday to go get it, might be my best option.

I was lucky enough to get mine from Amazon.co.uk during their 7-minute sell out, so I'm just going to wait for it to turn up on Friday. Not that that helps you much of course... but I'm happy to have the console arrive from Amazon and then I'll go to a shop to buy some games.

Funny you should say that - I've heard there are a few attempts out there on the net where people are trying to develop PC drivers for the Wii Remote... It's a standard bluetooth device apparently -"DarkBASIC Wii" might not be such an impossibilty as you might think...

Having a Wii controller work on a PC is hardly DarkBasic Wii. For one thing they're not legal drivers, and another thing is you're still playing PC games on your PC.

I didn't have the sense to preorder. But I'm going away soon right up to the 23rd, so I probably wouldn't have much time to play it anyway.

I heard that some lorry loads were nicked, and that due to bad weather a ship carrying Wiis couldn't dock! My local Curry's is getting the grand total of THREE next week. Ouch.
