If anyone is interested in the free 3D Modelling program Blender 3D, video google is hosting a large number of the Blender Conferences.

Blender Conference List

Some of it's heavy stuff, but there's a few gems in there. Blender certainly offers more than I realised.

Yep, Blender is awesome. I wish I lived in Europe so I could go to the conference.

Colin Levy is a genius with Blender. He spoke at the conference talking about a short movie he made with it. I believe his site is peerlessproductions.com

Blender is good, but I hate the UI, but I'm getting my head around it, because I don't have any animation tools that will export

Also, the Crystal Space dude seemed a little nervous and unprepared But hey he managed to blag it.

I spent some time geeting my head around blender about 6 months ago and ,imo, I was doing quite well. For some reason though I stopped and now I doubt I'd be able to remember anything. I'm planning on having another crack at it when a get a few weeks off for Christmas.

It would appear I've been bitten by the coding bug yet again...

True, which is why I'm going to buy Softimage XSI once I get a job, but for now I'm going to learn how to animated in Blender for the nVidia compo.

I downloaded it late last night, I just need a compatible IDE (I have one, but I'm not a fan of VC++ 2005 and the fact I would need the platform SDK), which I also downloaded, but the program needs to download extra files which were going to take ages, so I haven't had the chance to try it, it seems like a good kit.
