Alright,
I was thinking about the constant requests for vehicles. I thought of some ways to do it, but I do not have the understanding of how it is possible.
Anyway, here is my idea:

Make a weapon pickup. The model of the weapon pickup is, for example, a humvee...
As you pick it up, you enter the car (Just using the weapon basically).
The weapon model would basically be the windscreen (View from inside car)... The only problem is the speed. If there is a way to speed up while using a certain weapon, I reckon it would be possible. Oh, and I guess you would have to drop the weapon when you switch weapon/put it away, but I reckon thats too precise...
Reckon it would be possible?

Yours,
Dan

That was my suggestion as well in an earlier thread.
Nobody has bothered trying it though.
I think it would be interesting to see how well it works.

I have had success with open vehicles, like you walk in or jump in, but it was just a basic follow and rotate to player script where as long as you activated it by hitting enter, it would turn when you turned etc.

He said, "You drink when you're lonely." No I drink when I want!
He said, "You'll never be sober." Sure. Why would I want that?

I suggested a dashboard hud long ago too Fred.
The speed would pretty much be constant like URL Force said.
I never got around to it because I got preoccupied with a stationary gun.
That stupid gun wasted a lot of my time and I never got it working.

I thought of a tank enemy too.
It consisted of a bottom model and a top model that could rotate.
I wanted to equip it with a rocket. That too was set aside for the stationary gun.

Now, Butters has made a tank, and I expect the vehicles will come soon from someone.

Good Luck guys.

A mounted gun would have been great . I'm sure it would be a case of editing the source code, rather than a script you would attach to the entity... If that didnt make any sense, I still have no experience scripting I got a Black Hawk to take off, circle around then land in same place again. That was a simple form of waypoints... A simpler version of Butters' drop copter... Im sure vehicles will be developed sometime. Im also sure that, after so many people have asked for it, it was be developed for either V1 or X10... Like the case of save & load...

just make a [mod edit] mobile teleporter that self teleports, as only enemys can make use of the movement commands, hack an enemy and do the rest. But you dam well better do it right...

[mod edit]... I personally believe your pessimistic attidudes to vehicles is what MAKE my PERFECTLY POSSIBLE AND WORKING (okay... I havn't tested them since my inital PERFECTALLY WORKING vehicle release) not work.

okay, rant over... you go get a life while I go drink beer.

I think that has more to do with you than anything else.
If this thread wasn't dead you most certainly have killed it.

Your request (as per your thread in the Product Chat forum) has been granted.
You earned it.

P.S.:I will even honor you with a shirt...
