Hey, I'm getting my new PC on Thursday, and it is comming with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, and I have heard that it has had a few compatability issues with certain games and apps, and I don't know if most of these things have been corrected, or all of these problems have been fixed. Thanks

I tried google, but since there are so many millions of pages related to it it is hard to find the one thing you are looking for.

My dad has a laptop with media centre on it, alongside XP. It's pointless. It's media player with a nice GUI.

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

The only progs Ive used are CS:Source (it worked fine) and BF2. It is fine on normal servers but it crashes all the time on jalalabd 24/7 servers for some odd reason though it is fine on karkand 24/7 ones :/
Ive still to buy the cs2 upgrade so am stuck with the rather cack but better than nothing PS 5.5 at the mo. It works fine.

No probs. Im curious though as to why there would be compatibility issues that wouldnt occur with a normal copy of xp as I was under the impression it was just xp pro with an optional media front end

I just remember seeing lots of things on gamespot gamespace forums like this "I just got a media center edition PC, but when I tried to install [game name], it said [some random error]". Thats why I was wondering.
