I recently bought Dark Basic Lite. When I ran an example it said it was only available in Dark Basic full version.

Is Dark Basic and Dark Basic lite two different things?

Ability to make exe's

They most certainly are two different things. The Lite version of DarkBASIC is more of a "try it before you buy it" type of thing.

It was given away to schools to promote dark basic. My school got a few copies but it didn't prove very popular because my schools full of chavs that can't be bothered to do anything apart from smoke and kick people in
