Bowling, for a right handed player would involve swinging under arm, so the mote could only ever be coming up, but level, not pointing into the TV like that. To do that damage he'd need to be travelling at about 250mph, then holding to controller sideways and jamming it into the TV. No matter how hard you throw the wii mote, it would only ever crack the case at most because the force of the hit would be sent right back at the wiimote - it actually penetrating the case like that is simply impossible.

It's obvious guys, I mean look at the divot out of the TV unit, how did that happen?. If you ask me something fell against the TV and unit to cause the damage, jimmying a Wii mote into the hole and taking a picture is not proof. I'm thinking maybe a ladder, ladders fall sideways with a lot of force and destroy TV's all the time.

Moreover though, that guy seriously needs to dust and buy some less embarassing speakers - it's almost like he's toying with us, like being mocked is a turn on for him .

@Van B - The angle he has is actually okay. Reason for being sideways is probably because he was trying to put spin on the ball some so it would rotate some before it hit the TV. But i totally agree with you on the other parts.

Edit: Why can't we change our forum names anymore? Or did i just miss this somewhere...

Just ask bob marley--- he refused to change one of his other umpteen forum names after being repeatedly asked, so Rich locked that feature out completely.

LMAO!!!

That picture with the black eye is 100% photoshopped.

That guy is such an idiot. Look at where he stole that black eye from.

Search 'black eye' on google images. But, if your too lazy, here it is.

Its at the top, 1 to the right.

Wow. Maybe he was just being funny?

I agree with Van. Do you know how hard it would be to lob something that fast and twist it to that angle at the same time? Curveballs tend to be fast, but not as fast as other pitching types, because that's a pretty funky maneuver for the wrist to perform.

I see what Raven is saying, but I have to disagree in that the blunt shape of the wiimote isn't quite enough to break the plastic, or at least I don't understand how it could anyway. As Van pointed out, it would have to be moving remarkably fast to damage the television set in this manner. I could imagine it knocking out a piece or something, but getting stuck?

Also, what's behind the hole? It looks like nothing from the images. So what stopped the remote from simply passing into the TV? If the image is real, then it obviously made a pressure tear, which would have allowed the remote to pass further, right? But if there's nothing on the other side to stop it, then why didn't it fully enter the TV? If it was moving at that speed then surely it would have gone through, or at least it would have entered the box more, wouldn't it?

I saw that in my CNN e-mail bulletin thing today. I don't think it's going to hurt Nintendo though. How many consoles in the past have been recalled? Including the all-mighty PS2 (and this coming from the official TGC sony fanboy lol)

I still think it's not Nintendo's fault if these are breaking. Then again, they're expecting grace and caution from gamers who are finding the whole motion-into-gameplay experience new to them. I could see intelligent people getting into "the zone" and making a sharp, fast motion, if the game were good enough anyway, so the wriststrap does make sense... but I still think it's the fault of these people using these things moreso than the fault of Nintendo.

Haha this makes me laugh at how retarted some people can be, like the guy on the Barclays advert, but it did make me ask my Dad if he goes into other people's offices and try to score a golf ball and break their wide screen TV...but he don't like golf.

But still, its as stupid as if your TV remote goes flying if you check what button to press then fling it forward to aim at the TV...Perhaps these people should hold onto their remote.

Also that photoshopped dude looks like he has lips instead of an eye...so his Wii gave him lip eye syndrome?

Although the straps should be tougher, which I suppose they're working on it to avoid any lawsuits. But breaking your TV with a Wii remote is funny.

And how retarded some can be. Why would anyone *not* hold onto the remote properly just because there is a strap? The logic (or lack thereof) astounds me.
