Is there anyway to minimize it to an icon on that task bar thing so its running in the background?? Im using it as my media shaing programme now and I dont want it sitting around but running in the background so I can stream content.

just right-click on the taskbar and de-select Media Player from your toolbar menu.

No I want it to be running constantly but no visibly i mean one of those icons in the bottom right corner.

it can min to the task bar, or to the sys tray - I dont think it can be hidden

best you could do is to run a program that hooks the app, forces it to become hidden an displays the show/hide system tray icon.

don't think it has a system tray option normally, if you're wondering why don't you search microsoft's help site? usually covers everything about their products.

well, without using a third party app, right-click your task bar, click tool bars, and there should be a choice for Media Player, click that and it will get checkmarked. Now when you min media player its not in the task bar per se, but in a lil tool bar on the right (not exactly the systray). Its like a Quick Launch area but on the right, not the left.

If you want it in the systray then you might need a 3rd party app, but I wouldnt know about that - usually asking for trouble, them type of apps.
