I just put my player marker in the same spot as a story marker. Then once the game is loaded (or you hit ok in test mode) the video plays (a pic in my case) and once it is done, or clicked out of, the opening a.k.a the whoosh and screen splitting into view plays.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120

He means even before the menu. So at the very very very beginning; at startup. Indeed you can use Game Cover, very good program.

I like playing games, and making games

Or you can script the setup.fpi to do it. Don't even need a program.

I tried that, it still plays after the menu, just before the game begins. I didn't see anywhere else to put it, either.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

I never said I was giving you the code to do this...I said it CAN be done. S4 spent a bit of time sctipting that into the begining of our game so I know it's possible....as for doing it...thats up to you. The fpi is in the Languagebank/english/gamebank/YOUR GAME NAME HERE/setup.fpi

Go down the setuplevel.fpi script and look for ;Game Menu, I'm assuming that right below it you could put...

:state=0:video=VideoBank\<your video.wav>

This isn't tried either but I think it should load the video not before the main menu but it's the first function when it comes to loading the main menu so should appear before the backgrounds and menu buttons if you get what i'm saying. I've also been thinking this theory out, but never got round to doing it in practice, tell me of the results if you try this.

so what's the job?

i have it now, it works!!!

basically the states are changed, there is a state=0, state=1 and a state=3. The state=0 condition makes surethat the video runs directly before the main menu loads

so what's the job?

my computer is taking to long to upload, so if you make a simple game, just copy this script over your titlescript.fpi, and make a videobank folder with the storyvideo (FPSC Stock)in it. Then it should work

if you don't have the save/load feature, just delete the line with loadgame.dds in, hope this helps

so what's the job?
