Hats off to those two. Loved his stuff as a kid. But he did die a good age, so good for him.

They have a lot to answer for - without their adventures into limited animation, we'd have a lot less animated films, caroons and features today.

Anyway must dash, I have a pigeon to catch.

The man was a genius and was responsible for some of the greatest cartoons ever.
Still watch 'em from time to time when I get the chance.
He will be missed.

Iam not going to miss him, I never knew he existed, I just watched the cartoons. Yes, I care very little for people.

Wouldn't really classify him as *genius* per se--- but some of his cartoons were fun.

the guy had a very good run, sad to hear he died. saw it on bbc news today, definately provided us with some very memorable entertainment.

just a shame that they're not as popular today as they were even 10years back, big part of most of our childhoods.

Even though you had no idea who he was you have been effected by him through his cartoons. You need to remember that he has made you laugh... he deserves more respect and gratitude.

I loved those cartoons...

I can't find them on any channel anymore though.

I'm gonna miss him.

God Bless You, Joseph Barbera, you and William Hanna deserved every award and acknowledgement you got. You will both be sorely missed. Most of all, thank you for Tom and Jerry. Rest In Peace.

He died.. That sucks. Tom and Jerry ROCKS! He is on the top of the list for cartoons. He died at an age that is amazing, but he's in a better place.

I still love watching those old cartoons, not only the Hanna Barbera but also the old Warner Bros. stuff. It's amazing how much you learn about pop culture (and culture in general!) from watching those cartoons as a kid. Those should be kept in a time capsule to preserve early to mid 20th century American culture.

I laugh at them now for different reasons, some of it is SOOO politically "uncorrect" now, it's hilarious how some of that could never be shown nowadays. How women were portrayed, blackface jokes, etc.

Thats true.. People are trying to get it off, but (if you live in the USA) cartoons are a part of the US culture!
