Okay so im not sure how true this is there is evidence that google is making a new search engine totally different from Google and its a new searchengine called "SearchMash". You may ask how do you know its google for sure... well go to SearchMash's Privacy Policy and it should say ...

So yes if you search SearchMash and Google on Google then you will find many sites talking about Google's new site which is meant to be a seperate search engine . It is in its testing stage so its not a complete search engine but you can search stuff.Since its in its test stage SearchMash/Google want feedback on your experience and if everything works on your computer ... Its optional though.

It has a completely different look and one good thing is there are no ads. I have only found it recently so im not sure of the other features it has.

I was surprised at this new idea Google has done by making this SearchMash. So for those that want to check it out the

they are also bringing out google space as well.

teoma was supposed to be another engine to rival googles, however with the advent of the giant growing nothing could compare. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teoma

It's a beta test.

New technology that they didn't want to put straight into the main search.

Apparently they didn't want it to be associated at all with Google.

Thats what I was about to say... In my opinion, any search engine which returns 21,000,000 results is not doing its job. Its not searching, its filtering. A Search should return RELEVANT results - not everything with the word "porn" in it.

Another problem which google faces is the user. People type in 1 word and expect to have the site their looking for at the top like the searching engine is linked into their consciousness or something. I really believe that "searching" is something that should be taught in school as part of a researching skill as some people have no idea whatsoever about how to use a search engine properly.

I agree, it takes practice to learn how to use a search engine properly. I don't think some people understand the concept of "key words".

Not only keywords, but using quotations, +- signs, wildcards, all these things really define a search well.
