Newcomers DBPro Corner / snippets and mip mapping

Can somebody explain to me what mip mapping is, and what it's uses are. I've checked the commands but they don't explain what they do.

The other thing is, how do you use the code snippets box. When I try it puts the source in the 'source' button and not the snippets box.

mipmapping is a way of dealing with texture detail when the object you are texturing is in the distance. It's a way of maintaining the level of detail.

to use code snippits (bearing in mind that not everyone can access them), just put '[ code ]' at the start of your code and '[ /code ]' at the end (remove the extra spaces of course.
