I posted about a problem with my computer locking up during games a while back, only to shrug of the fact that I cant have 3 hour gaming sessions. However, recently, Its gotten worse and worse. To reiterate, my computer was locking up during gaming and I had to restart the computer by flipping the back switch. But now, its even worse. It seems that it will lock up out of games now, such as when I was updating real-player or watching a flash movie just now. I still have no idea what is going on. Any clue as to why my computer is acting up?

Could be anything. Most likely viruses, do you have Norton or something similar updated?

Tried Norton. Updated everything on it then did a full system scan and not a thing came up.

That happened to me a year ago until my computer never came on again. It was a hardware problem. Some major problem with something that many other people had trouble with. I totaly forget now because I blocked it out of my memory, but if you tell me more about your computer, I might be able to help.

Probably not though

Good luck getting it fixed

I think i know what's going on, take a look at your CPU fan. If you have the same problem i had some months ago then your CPU fan or that cooling thingy on top (don't really know the english word for it) should be blocked by lots of dust.

That's probaly were the problem lies.

Charlie Brown is a fictional character, he's not real I'm afraid.

Not really, my computer hates me and well...Actually bad example, I am truly evil I'm afraid...

But yes ditto to Grandma and I did not mean in anyway to encourage you, at all.

Try having a look in your event log, might be a couple of clues about what might cause it.

The dust sounds plausible I suppose, I mean Ive never dusted the computer in the 4 years Ive had it. What would be the best way of cleaning out my computer of the stuff? And also, where exactly is the event log?

Edit: Ok, I found the event log, but what exactly am I looking for?

Basically, any errors marked with a Red icon. Particularly any regarding drivers or similar. Might give you some hints.
