There's an on-screen keyboard where you point at the keys... I haven't used one and I can guess that.

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

Heh.. I checked out a few sites this morning with it too - it's pretty cool, but the constant zooming in/out was annoying (default zoom the text is too small to read). Still it's only a beta and was entertaining enough to drag me away from Ristar for a few minutes!

That's true, and there's a great auto-complete feature where words appear depending on what you're typing, and you can click on the right one to speed things up. It's also a little smart

Yah that is the only issue I've had so far. I'm actually surprised that Flash works pretty good-- visited YouTube and pulled up a David Letterman clip and it was great.

I also haven't figured out how to type any address in from any page. The only way I know how to do that is to go to the Start page first then click that option.

And this message was written in my wee...

Sorry, but if Nintendo insist with that name, they're gonna have to put up with goons.

Nice one though, me wanting a wii, not for the reason to say 'mummy I want a wii/wee' but it looks so awesome, at first I had doubts on the graphical abilities, but Red Steel looks good (Although personally I think some of the face modelling could be better ) Watching the Wii adverts with the dude using the controller like a sword is cool, I can imagine educational Kendo games being released, 'teach your kid how to commit Seppuku' and such like. Which would cause more of an uproar than the GTA games.

Also, being a Zelda, Spongebob and FF:CC fan it is inevitable to nab one.

This is a post from my PC. My Wii has the 6 digit error code that prevents Internet connection, so I have to wait until after Xmas to send it in because I want to get my Elebits groove on and play teh 'mehness' of RedSteel.

The Wii, devolving the human standards for typing. Why use an On Screen Keyboard when you can use an actual keyboard and type 15x faster?

@Seppuku, I can not imagine a game which would teach the child to plung their wii controller into their stumac. Well, maybe a japanesse cultural lesson 'game'.

Personally, I can't see a Wii game being that innovative, and from the reviews I have read (not all being 'wii sucks') it seems to come down the the sad fact that your skills in tennis, for instance, will not translate over to the wii. That in the end, you are just pushing a different button, one that is three dimentional in nature. Simply flicking the remote between your fingers probally would produce the same result.

At most, I would say the Wii would bring about a sense of false ability... meaning that these Wii players might actually believe they are expert swordsmen. Go out, and get themselves killed... There is a lot more to sword fighting than you can learn from swinging a wii controler, or brooms, for that matter. For one, the general balance is a lot different than what all these movies portray. And if someone doesn't hurt him/her while she/he is trying to finally grasp that... she/he will get hurt while attempting to swing it (not realizing the momentum).

Come on, that is pure lunacy...

The same argument could be used against going to the arcade and sitting in one of those cars with the steering wheel to control the vehicle. That is a moot point.

The Wii is not a sport *trainer*, but a simulation.

Would be interesting to see a version of Deer Hunter on the Wii where you aim the gun around with the Wii-mote. Would be a bit more realistic.

I wanted to see what the ip address and browser details looked like.

I looked at someones ip stuff here who said they did as well, the ip address shows a windows box from the ip address details. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3

what browser does it have?, what OS would it show...

It isn't in a world of loonies. Although I can't imagine why somebody would go and challenge a group of underground samurai warriors after playing Red Steel, its more than lunacy I'd say, although it might be an amusing read on a Sunday morning

Indeed - it does give the same result. The idea is not that the Wii will give you real world skills to take away and use - but that it will reduce the barriers to learning how to play in those who aren't used to the terror that are joypads (two sticks, a d-pad, and an average of 10 buttons, some of which are analogue?). It will become more intuitive and to an extent, immersive.

I much prefer swinging the sword in Zelda with the wiimote, or putting the ball in Golf with the wiimote, than I would were it just a few buttons on a pad (or a keyboard).

I like my Wii - and I'm very much looking forward to people making games for it that couldn't work with any other control system. There's a lot of forms of input in one of those little wiimotes.

(Haven't tried the browser yet - I will tonight when I get home!)

Well, the browser seems nice and fast - especially with the word completion stuff. Can't imagine it being much good for code snippets though. Glad my blog looks alright on it too! Well done Nintendo.

Apparently going here:

http://team-dsx.net/ds/basic.php

Means you can have tabbed browsing.

Someone try it? Apparently it automatically opens a tab in Opera?
