basic urban scenario.. I took character names of my friends from other games and wrote up a spoof story.. of rescuing two of them...because they found out about the tears virus...end up going after the mad scientist and his evil lover.. to try and find out more.. (( mad scientist and evil lover are two friends that cant stand each other))

I think you would call it more of a basic military style/goverment investigation thing. =)

Great idea and use of the program. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

the guitar is from one of the model packs.

I have a demo of the first level as i have accomplished it so far.
but I cant decide if being an old woman without a clue or just plain noobishness is responsible for some buggishness and slow framerates.

I tried following the tutorials of using triggers to spawn entities...and that works to a point...

the other buggishness is the ai doesnt work all the time, and with 1.4 rc 8 not all the lightmapping is working correctly...

second edit: models are from model packs 1,3,4 and 5 and corepack 1 as well as spritepack. Hud is from templar took me a while but he does great work. the signs and rooms were made from model pack 3, as well as originals made with magicfps and signs IV. also credit goes to signs IV for popup messages and storyline messages.

edit: although full lightmapping is on.. the lightmaps and how they show up in test mode isnt the same as in build mode.

but ill post a link here for a download and perhaps you folks can offer some suggestions to how I can improve the speed and setting things up.

I downloaded and played and i'll review it now as promised.
Ok first i'll tell you the pros of the game,It had good use of scenery and a unique storyline. The setup of the level i thought was quite interesting and you used some good music which i noticed was made with Sony Acid Music Studio .

Ok now the cons, the biggest problem was this

for some reason in the front room no textures showed up.Another major problem was as soon as you got to the second floor the enemys didn't really attacked, they just stood there. These are rather bugs than flaws in the game but i would try to fix them if i were you. Also i thought that you should have tried to add in more puzzles besides the 1st switch puzzle.

Hope the game comes along well

I noticed some folks on some computers get that grey screen... on all 4 of my computers it doesnt. wich is odd... in rc 8 the enemies dont attack, on rc 9 they attack but then the lights dont work...

as far as the walls go, I wonder if its a matter of having the latest dx installed.

puzzles ill work on creating more =)

thanks bob

*raises a hand* anyone know how to fix the bugs listed or can point me in right direction?

I tested the game for you Jikito.

I have the latest directx installed, so I had no missing textures. The characters did not attack because you have too many loaded at the start of the level. You may like to try Umans 'Load and unload' scripts, which are in the scripts forum, so that you get better AI results and a better frame rate.

I liked the lighting in your game and the textures you used. But I did like like the way the enemies just appeared infront of you when you walked into a trigger zone.

I also found some misplaced entities, such as the ceiling light in the switch room and some of the light rays.

Overall, it looked good for your first game, or first set of games?
