Is there a file format that you can convert x files into so that they work with 3ds max, apart from the character studio files, i can't afford the new 3ds max, I only have 3d max r3

so what's the job?

I believe that .x format only contains vertex animation data, so while the models can be converted back into max the animations cannot.

The max biped character animations are available on the fpscreator website in downloads.
