I made a website (an acual dot.com address, not a free one) but am encountering some problems.

I made a home page, and for a while it was working. I kept editing it, and added a second page. it still worked. then all of a sudden, whenever I typed in my site name, it would pull up a search thing saying,

"The web site address you entered could not be found.
Please try the related content suggestions and paid advertisements below, or try another search.
You entered "http"."

I did not enter http, i entered my site name. if i enter my site/something, it will have me my 404 page, like it should, but it won't go to my site.

for all those interested, zaibatsugames.com is my site, but that link won't work. you have to go to, http://zaibatsugames.com/index.htm to see it. (at least for me)

the first link is a guest book
the 2nd link appears to be your website.

have a look at your websites structure and see if you have a default loading page.
you might have index.htm and index.html

go into your websites control panel and set it to the correct file you want loaded as the first page.

i haven't made a guestbook for my site...

EDIT: I think I fixed it so that both links will link to the same page, but I cannot tell becuase my computer still hates that first link. can someone test my theory?

If you'll look in your FTPs main directory, then you'll see you have two files.

One called index.htm (your main page) and the other called index.php (that guestbook thing).

If you delete the index.php file, it should default to your index.htm

Also, if you make changes but can't seem to see them, try doing Ctrl+F5 to force a complete refresh.

Jess.
