what you will need:

Project Dogwaffle &
paint shop pro
(you should beable to other programs if they have the features)

Step one
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

open project Dogwaffle
Select your size(keep in mind usually bigger will be more dedailed)

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Step two
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

go to effectstextureclouds
Set the irriations to 6 to 8, colored(you may change it if you wish)

Save it.

Step Three
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Open paint shop pro and set the color to a darkish red

On the effects bar find the "Hot wax layer" effect
Click it once or twice.

it looks kinda not like lava, it looks like just the photoshop effect clouds with deep red and black. no offense tho

Your going to wnat to add bevel na dembossing to it. it will give it the depth that it needs, you should also learn about cahnnels as they will give you the best result.
